The development of realistic theory and practice in each stage is for a certain class or group in society, which adds new connotation to realistic aesthetic theory. Film typology is the result of the development of film industry. In the process of industrialization, movies pay more and more attention to the genre characteristics of movies. Realism is the trend of film creation, but these two concepts are inseparable in film creation. This paper first briefly analyzes the concepts of realistic films and genre films, and then illustrates the relationship between realistic films and genre films through a film.

Keywords: realistic movies; Genre movies; Theme; Modeling; form of expression

In film creation, realistic films and genre films are two mainstream creative modes. The creation of realistic films mainly reflects the objective life, while genre films are films with typical characteristics created according to certain patterns. Although they are different in creative ways, we can't separate them in film creation. Realistic films emphasize high artistry, but may ignore appreciation; However, genre films may reduce the artistry while firmly grasping the audience's appetite. If the two are combined in film creation, the overall quality of the film will rise to a higher level.

First, the concept of realistic films and genre films

1. Realistic movies

? Realism? This word originally refers to one of the basic creative methods of literature and art, which focuses on truthfully reflecting real life and has strong objectivity. It advocates observing the real life objectively and calmly, describing it accurately and delicately according to the original features of life, and striving to truly reproduce the typical characters in the typical environment. Film was born in 1895, which is the youngest category of all arts. ? Realism? The original usage of this word in movies is just a term transfer. As a science and technology art that reflects reality and life with light and shadow, film's realistic expression is essentially different from literature, painting and other art categories. From Chaplin's silent films, to the documentary movement in Britain, the poetic realism in France and the socialist realism in the Soviet Union, and then to the Italian neo-realism, which has the greatest influence on later generations, realism runs through an idea: paying attention to social reality. These problems are manifested in the contradiction between man and society, the conflict between man and nature, the gap between man and man, the struggle between man and his own soul and so on.

2. genre movies

? Genre movies? It is a film made according to different types of laws and regulations. As a film production method, it once occupied a dominant position in Hollywood in 1930s and 1940s, and commercial films in other capitalist countries also took genre concept as the basic concept of film production. The so-called genre refers to the category, category or form of films formed due to different themes or techniques. Genre films, as a way of film production, have the following characteristics: film creators must strictly abide by the basic provisions of the film genre designated by the producers, that is, (1) formulaic plots. (2) stereotyped writing. (3) Graphic visual image. According to the psychological characteristics of the audience, the production of genre films focuses on a certain type in a certain period, that is, taking the so-called? Thermal wave replacement? Way.

Second, realism in movies.

The significance of realistic movies lies in objectively and truly reflecting life, paying attention to people's livelihood and reality, and shaping one typical social image after another, which is true and delicate. Everyone will have a realistic idea in his heart; The reality shown in a so-called realistic film is also the reality of some people's lives, and it is impossible to cover all the people. In this way, realism is ambiguous in concept. One view is that as long as it shows the truth of most people, it is a kind of realism. However, problems also follow. Who do most people mean? Do most ordinary people live in the lower classes of society? Or a group that has mastered the right to speak knowledge and the right to speak? If he is an ordinary person, he has no right to speak, but most people engaged in movies are knowledgeable cultural groups, and there is a gap in identity confirmation between them, so it is difficult to make movies that can well express their real life reality and real thoughts. If he is an intellectual who has mastered the right to speak, he represents a minority in quantity, which is contrary to the definition of majority. In this way, the concept of realism has been narrowed down. Let me talk about realistic movies through an example.

Recently, I watched a movie about the theme of World War II: The former Yugoslavia movie Walter Defends Sarajevo. This is an excellent realistic film. Movies have many typical characteristics of western movies: concise narrative, clear dialogue, or conciseness, point to stop, or implication, lingering sound, and even an epiphany. Walter Defends Sarajevo was a hit in China. This film truly reflects the story of the heroic resistance of the Yugoslav people when the Nazis invaded Yugoslavia during World War II. Unlike many films in China that reflect the Anti-Japanese War, Chinese anti-Japanese War films depict people as gods, which are full of ingenuity, courage, betrayal and disguise. The suspense running through it is the mysterious guerrilla Walter. He led the guerrillas to victory again and again, but they came and went without a trace, and even his team members could not find him. The most commonly used means in movies are tracking and camouflage, and of course there are countermeasures. German officers disguised as Walter, guerrillas disguised as German soldiers and so on. The film is touching, the characters are flesh and blood, and the positive and negative characters in the film are authentic. In the aspect of characterization, it did not follow the old model that some revolutionary films mythologized and formulated revolutionaries and made the enemy stupid and unrecognizable. The revolutionaries in the film didn't preach impassioned, they just acted silently. The positive characters in the film don't have many lines, and the negative characters don't dictate. What moved me most about this film was the unity of the Yugoslav people, and guerrillas were everywhere. There are many wonderful things in this movie. For example, when the Nazis set a trap for people to claim the bodies of senior guerrillas, the watch repairman and Walter, as guerrillas, led people to find the bodies of their loved ones. They endured the great grief of losing their loved ones, adhered to the revolutionary spirit of death, and held their heads high in the face of fascist guns, which made me cry; For another example, the watchmaker pretended to be Walter and died generously. Knowing that there are tigers in the mountains, I would rather go to the mountains and rivers, knowing that it will never return, and resolutely die generously. When the watchmaker fell, the dove of peace suddenly flew up, expressing the lofty realm of human sacrifice for peace; Another example is the words of the SS colonel at the end of the film: Look, this city, he is Walter. Sarajevo is Walter, Yugoslavia is Walter, and peace-loving people all over the world are Walter. This is justice. Movie breakthrough? Daily life? Everyday, fully reveals the state of war? Daily life? Non-daily, so that when the audience watches the familiar appearance in daily life, they often get an aesthetic experience beyond their daily experience, or they are amazing or unexpected.

Thirdly, the relationship between realistic films and genre films.
