abstract

Based on the "SWOT analysis method" in marketing, this paper regards college students as enterprises in the market and their employment environment as the market environment in which enterprises are located, and emphatically analyzes four aspects: competitive advantages, competitive disadvantages, opportunities and threats. It is of great significance to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of college students themselves and the advantages and disadvantages of college students' employment environment for clarifying their personality and ability characteristics, as well as the employment opportunities and challenges they face.

Keywords: SWOT analysis of college students' employment

introduce

In 2008, the global financial crisis triggered by the subprime mortgage crisis in the United States broke out with a large scale and wide influence, which is another historic economic crisis since the oil crisis in the 1970s. In the process of globalization and international integration, China is bound to be hit hard. From the coast to the inland, both foreign trade and domestic enterprises have experienced different degrees of turmoil. At the same time, great changes have taken place in the labor market and a large number of unemployed people have appeared. However, the number of graduates has increased year by year, and the number of unemployed people has also increased sharply. All these will have a great impact on the employment of college graduates this year and in the next two years. With more and more college graduates in China, the employment situation of college students is grim, and the global financial crisis has brought unprecedented pressure on college students' employment. How should we college students choose jobs, find jobs, start businesses or continue their studies?

Theoretical summary

First of all, about SWOT analysis theory.

SWOT analysis, also known as situational analysis, was put forward by a management professor at the University of San Francisco in the early 1980s. It is a method that can objectively and accurately analyze and study the actual situation of a unit.

SWOT iv

Second, about the employment environment of college students.

Employment environment refers to the individual growth environment, social psychological environment, social politics, economy, culture and social factors related to college graduates' job hunting, so as to seek advantages and avoid disadvantages and formulate job hunting goals in line with social reality.

The specific classification is shown in the left figure:

SWOT analysis results

First, the analysis of the current employment situation of college students

According to the statistics of the Ministry of Education, in 200 1 year, the number of college graduates nationwide was 1 15000, and the number of unemployed people was about 340,000, accounting for 30% of the total number. By 2005, the number of unemployed has increased to 1 10,000, and the employment situation of college students is still not optimistic. At least 60% of college students can't find jobs. See Table 2 for the data.

At the press conference of the State Council Office at the end of 2008, Zhang Xiaojian, Vice Minister of Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, said that the employment situation of college students faced the obstacles of the top four students' employment.

Table 2. Questionnaire survey of unemployed graduates in 2008;

Note: In 2008, there were nearly 1 10,000 unemployed college students, and in 2009, there were about 6 1. 1 10,000 college graduates, totaling about 7 1 10,000.

In short, the job market for college students

The first big challenge to enter society.

Second, the competitive advantage of college students' employment (strength) analysis

1, its own academic strength

Zhang Ruxian, a professor at the School of Politics and Administration of Hainan University, once stressed, "Being educated for four years is not the same as not going to college. College students themselves

2. National policies

Because our population

3. Support from the school.

On the one hand, universities have extensive contacts with the society, and the influence of the reputation of the school itself can be recognized by the society. With the influence of the school,

Third, the employment competitiveness of college students (weak)

1, after professional setting

First of all, the setting of disciplines and majors in colleges and universities is seriously lagging behind, and the setting of disciplines and majors in most colleges and universities is based on the hot spots of current economic development.

2. unscientific concept of career choice.

College students' unscientific outlook on job selection, high vision and harsh requirements on employers and working environment lead to graduates' expectation and utilization of their outlook on job selection.

3. The comprehensive quality of college students needs to be improved.

Although undergraduates study well.

College students urgently need to meet their work needs.

Fourthly, the analysis of college students' employment opportunities.

The employment opportunities of college students are simply job providers. The types of college students' employment positions basically include: enterprise positions-private enterprises, state-owned enterprises, foreign enterprises and so on. And institutions-civil servants, village officials, teachers, doctors, etc. Someone said, "It is said that the employment opportunities of college students have shrunk dramatically." Actually, this is a misunderstanding.

Guangzhou Jintian Consulting Co., Ltd.

Therefore, college students have ample employment opportunities. The key lies in the problems in the methods of college students' finding and identifying market opportunities. They can't accurately identify, analyze and evaluate market opportunities, but they often make wrong choices.

Fifthly, the employment threat analysis of college students.

1, global financial crisis

The spreading global financial crisis and economic recession are threatening the employment in China, which is already under pressure. According to official statistics, there are currently 20 million unemployed migrant workers in China, more than 6 million college students are about to graduate, and there are new unemployed people and unemployed college students in cities and towns this year. ...

2. Enterprise "re-employment" mechanism

"Rizhao News" once reported that in the case of college students lamenting the difficulty of employment, some units implemented the method of "rehiring" old employees, which caused a certain degree of "threat" to college students who had just left school.

Now many units are implementing this "re-employment" employment mechanism. They believe that this employment mechanism can bring benefits to the unit more quickly, and it is difficult for newly graduated college students to meet the needs of the company's development as soon as possible because of their lack of experience. College students don't understand this mechanism and think that enterprises should give them opportunities. Relevant personnel of the labor department said that at present, many units have adopted this employment mechanism, which has indeed brought tangible benefits to the units, but it is unfavorable to the newly graduated college students. College students can give full play to their specialties in other aspects to change this unfavorable situation.

3. The continuous expansion of college students.

Things are scarce, but the enrollment expansion of college students is in full swing. The number of college graduates has increased dramatically. While the number has increased, the quality of college students has not improved together. On the contrary, undergraduate higher education has gradually become a "civilian education" rather than an "elite education". The "counterfeiting" and "adulterating water" behaviors of many universities cast a shadow on college students.

4. Some unfavorable factors in China's economic development.

In the process of China's economic development, there are inevitably many disadvantages. For example, in the field of information and communication, there are only a few giants such as China Mobile, China Unicom and Telecom. If these service industries can relax market access and promote fair competition, they will provide thousands of employment opportunities. In addition, China's high-tech industries are underdeveloped and mostly concentrated in the southeast coastal areas, and there is less demand for talents in colleges and universities. The management mode of small and medium-sized enterprises, especially family-run private enterprises, tends to be private ownership, cronyism, without scientific management concept and unwilling to provide jobs for college students.

All these pose a great threat to the employment of college students.

General conclusion

Through SWOT analysis of the employment situation of college students, we can find that the employment situation of college students is still grim and the employment channels of college students need to be further expanded.
