Due to the low gas content, aluminum castings obtained by melt casting can be strengthened by solid solution treatment of the castings, not to mention the mechanical properties of high alloys. In this experiment, Al-Cu alloy was taken as the research object. By melting Al -50% Cu alloy and pure Al -5% Cu alloy, the castings were treated by solid solution and aging for different time. By observing the microstructure, the influence of heat treatment time on the microstructure and properties of the alloy was obtained.
