You can see that there are information such as creation time and modification time, and the statistics box at the bottom has pages, paragraphs, lines, words, characters and characters (bands). The number of words here refers to the sum of Chinese, English and numbers. Punctuation is a word, and English is a word (with spaces as the dividing line). The method of counting is the same as that of English words.

2. You can also press Tools Statistics to open the Statistics window. The statistics here are more detailed. The number of words in English and Chinese is displayed separately. "Words" is the sum of the following Chinese and English words.

The statistical methods and results of these two methods are actually the same. Among them, the calculation method of the number of characters (excluding spaces) is: a Chinese character counts as a character, an English letter counts as a character, and a number in a number counts as a character; Spaces (statistical spaces) in the number of characters are counted according to the spaces in the document, and spaces other than the indentation of the first line are not counted; The number of paragraphs is calculated by the number of words and carriage returns; The number of lines is counted according to the number of lines with words, and blank lines with carriage return but no words are not counted.
