Read life again, still in tears.

Life is Lu Yao's novella. 198 1 ends. Based on the urban and rural activities in northern Shaanxi Plateau during the reform period, it tells the changing process of Gao Jialin, a high school graduate, returning to the land, leaving the land and returning to the land again. The contradiction in the development of the whole story is the emotional entanglement between the protagonist Gao Jialin and the rural girl Liu Qiaozhen and the urban girl Huang Yaping, which reflects Gao Jialin's difficult choice.

This article tries to talk about my feelings and opinions from the perspective of Gao Jinlin's choice.

The 1980s is an era of great change, which is embodied in the binary opposition between urban and rural areas: advanced and backward, rich and poor, civilized and ignorant, complex and pure, romantic and simple, and so on. A series of policies, such as commodity economy, land reform and resumption of college entrance examination, are stimulating people's nerves and changing people's minds. Gao Jialin, the hero, is such a great young man in a new era.

Although I didn't get into college, I graduated from high school and taught in villages and towns, which is a decent job compared with doing farm work in farmers' fields. However, the story begins with his "unemployment"-his position was rejected by the son of the village secretary.

When he was depressed and lost hope in life, Liu Qiaozhen, a beautiful and kind person in the village, took a fancy to him. Qiao Zhen's selfless and pure love gave him spiritual support and rekindled Gao Jialin's enthusiasm for living in rural land.

Since then, Uncle Gao's transfer has not only brought him a job like a duck to water, but also won like-minded hearts. He has the opportunity to jump from the county to a bigger city, and a better life gradually spread out in front of him.

However, improper work and impure love are doomed to be illusory bubbles. After being reported, Gao Jialin lost everything and had to return to the land again. The gentle and beautiful Qiao Zhen got married after he rejected her. This time, no one gave him moral support.

If there is no intelligent building, if there is no Ma Zhansheng, if it is not such an era, will Gao Jialin get what it wants and be happy? I don't know, because the story can be assumed, but there is no if in life. I only know that things like this are still happening in Gao Jialin in this era.

Gao Jialin ended up with nothing in his choice, which is not so much a tragedy of the times as an impermanence of life. From depression and frustration to complacency to nothing, isn't it the normal state of life? Moreover, his choices are mostly passive. By contrast, Julian in Stendhal is a tragedy.

Everyone has to experience many unexpected things when growing up, but young people can start all over again. Who says they won't be happy? Who said that life should be measured by happiness or not? What is happiness?

Time is limited, but there is nothing new under the sun. What we have to do is to be frustrated and calm, complacent and indifferent.

Schopenhauer said:

When Gao Jialin first returned to the village, it was when he was depressed. At this time, his ideal is getting farther and farther away from him, and at this time, the kind and pure Joe really appeared in front of him like an angel. Gao Jialin chose to be with Qiaozhen not so much because Qiaozhen's selfless love finally touched Gao Jialin, but because Qiaozhen, who is beautiful and sensible, triggered the germination of Gao Jialin's heart and aroused his initial desire.

When he returned to the county to become a correspondent, facing Huang Yaping's enthusiastic confession, he finally decided to give up Qiaozhen and stay with Huang Yaping after repeated consideration. This choice seems rational: he realized his greater ambition in order to go to a bigger city. And he went to the provincial capital to study for a month, which strengthened his mind.

But this is, after all, the fantasy of "looking at plums to quench thirst". I have done well in the county, but I want to rely on Huang Yaping to go to a bigger city. This so-called rational thinking may be that the inner desire is stirring his heart.

Ambition and pursuit are the qualities a man should have, but we should combine reality and rely on our own efforts to be down-to-earth, and don't aim too high.

It can be said that Gao Jialin chose Liu Qiaozhen and then Huang Yaping, not out of pure love, nor because he passively accepted them, thus adjusting his emotions. This kind of love is exactly what Fromm said: "I love you because I need you". It is immaturity, it is a kind of dependence, and it is essentially to satisfy one's own desires. The former is lust, the latter is vanity.

Gao Jialin finally returned to the countryside, turned a circle on the road of life, and returned to the post of teacher. He lost Qiao Zhen and Yaping, but he also gained valuable life experience.

I wonder, if I let Gao Jialin go again, can he still have a good career and love? I'm thinking again, if I were Gao Jialin, would I turn around and go back to my original place in the face of the same choice?

The uniqueness of this road of life lies in its unpredictability, which determines the difficulty of choice. It is understandable that we will hesitate, compare and struggle, and all want a good result after making a choice.

However, there is no good or bad choice, because it is unpredictable. The so-called good and bad, right and wrong, are all evaluations made by people according to some established rules afterwards. For individuals, I think there are only gains and losses. And choice is life, because there is no return. The road of life is a one-way street, and one can only set foot on one road.

Gao Jialin lost his "gold", which is a clever treasure, a kind of conscience, and I think it is an ability. An ability to honestly face your heart, constantly reflect and ask questions.

Always keep this sober, be cautious and honest with yourself, make any choice will be more certain, and face any result will be more calm.

Lu Yao's life is an uncomplicated and relatively simple story, but the greatness of his works lies in that any individual in any era has to face the proposition of life choice that Gao Jialin has to face.

He loves us, and we all have his shadow.
