Academic Papers on How to Cultivate College Students' Information Literacy
Cultivate and improve students' information literacy. Information technology teaching. Clarify the goal of information technology teaching.

The purpose of offering information technology courses is to cultivate students' information ability and improve their information literacy. Information technology is different from other disciplines, and its teaching is based on the operation of various softwares. From this perspective, information technology teaching is actually teaching students how to use these softwares. However, new software is also emerging at an alarming rate, so in the teaching process of information technology, it is impossible for students to master the use of each software. This requires us to cultivate students with relevant abilities, constantly explore, draw inferences from others, and explore and learn knowledge independently. The process of learning knowledge is also the process of receiving and using information. Only students who have the ability of information acquisition, transmission, analysis, processing and application can continue to learn knowledge and improve information literacy. This has also achieved the goal of our information technology teaching.

Second, understand the relationship between information technology and computer software and hardware.

Its relationship: the category of information technology is far greater than the connotation of computer science.

In the teaching of information technology, the cultivation of students' computer and software operation ability should be attributed to the collection, analysis and processing of information. Therefore, in the teaching of information technology, students should not only master the basic knowledge, basic principles and basic operations of computer technology, network technology and multimedia technology, but also cultivate their information acquisition ability and information literacy, that is, they can acquire information quickly and effectively, skillfully analyze information, critically evaluate information, accurately process information and creatively use information. Make them have the awareness of lifelong learning and the ability to deal with life and study problems by using information technology. Compared with information ability and information literacy, computer hardware and software are secondary and superficial. It is conceivable that some excellent software and hardware, such as CPU, Office, Wps, windows, etc. In the future, it may be replaced by better hardware and software, but the methods and strategies for solving problems are very similar. Just like programming, the specific language is optional, changeable, more and more powerful and easy to use, while the idea of solving problems by algorithms remains unchanged. This requires teachers not only to teach students to use information tools-computers, but also to teach students to correctly understand, judge and evaluate information from the perspective of information technology, so as to broaden students' horizons and ideas and improve their ability to solve practical problems. It can be said that the information technology curriculum is designed to cultivate innovative talents, not computer operators.

Third, guide students to establish a strong sense of information.

First of all, in the information technology class, students should master the concepts of information and information technology comprehensively and clearly, and give two definitions of information. 1. The popular definition of information is that information is valuable news, intelligence and knowledge that people express, transmit, save and process. 2. Scientific definition, information is the content of various stimuli that people perceive. Note that the stimulus here must be based on students' existing concepts, that is, the concept of stimulus established when students produce conditioned reflex, such as the content contained in visual stimulus and auditory stimulus. Then, we should explain to the students the classification of information, information transmission media, information expression forms, and information-related operations such as expression, transmission, processing and preservation. Some people think that learning information technology is learning computers-computers. This view is wrong. The category of information technology is much larger than that of computers. Because computers appear as tools for learning information in information technology, teachers should guide students to learn to use computers from the perspective of tool application and handle the relationship between information technology and computers well.

If we can't guide students consciously and correctly and help them establish correct information concepts in teaching, it will inevitably have some negative effects. For example, teachers teach students to swim in the online world, but students use it to browse unhealthy information online, or indulge in online chat and games and neglect their studies, and may even embark on the road of crime. It can be seen that the understanding, evaluation and correct use of information is more important than the specific operation of computers to a great extent, which requires information technology teachers to educate and guide students on information technology literacy, ethics and rules and regulations regularly and consciously to help them establish a correct view of information, not just to teach students how to use computers.

Fourth, create conditions and situations for students to learn and apply information technology independently.

Whether information technology can be used to solve the problems encountered in life and study is very important. The cultivation of students' information literacy is by no means a problem that can be solved by an information technology course. Teachers in all disciplines create conditions and actively advocate students to change their learning methods by using information technology, so that students have the opportunity to learn by using information technology, and then learn to learn by using information technology. This is an important way to cultivate students' information literacy. 1, information technology teaching is integrated into other disciplines.

In teaching, I found that students learn information technology, but they can't use it well. For example, after learning the application of Word, I just can't think of inputting my favorite composition into the computer for typesetting and printing. I have studied online search engine, but I don't know how to use it to look up the relevant information of "Suoxi Valley" in Chinese class. The reason for this situation is that we have not actively guided students to organically combine the study of information technology with the study of other disciplines, and use information technology tools to serve the study of other disciplines. Taking Word teaching as an example, if students simply start with information technology textbooks and master relevant Word knowledge, they can type, typeset and print, then their information skills will be developed and the teaching task will be completed. From the perspective of information literacy, the above practices are far from enough. Because students have not internalized the information technology knowledge they have learned into a quality and ability, and have not learned to use information technology tools consciously to learn new knowledge, there will be such a situation: they have learned the application of Word, but they can't actually use it. Therefore, students' information literacy can be steadily improved only under the environment of combining learning with application. To this end, we have appropriately enriched and adjusted the content of the textbook. Examples of organic integration of mathematics content in word teaching: a. Learn to input a paragraph of Chinese characters, punctuation marks and other characters in mathematics with pinyin. B, the text modification agency typesets the contents of the last input text C, the insertion photo agency inserts appropriate pictures in the last typeset text, and adjusts the size and position of the pictures. D, print preview Learn to print out the contents of the last text and compare it with the textbook. Who is more beautiful? E. apply and consolidate the application skills of Word. Enter a composition that students are satisfied with, typeset and print it, and participate in the exhibition.

As can be seen from the above, word teaching organically integrates mathematics content, so that students can actively apply it after mastering relevant word knowledge. Students use information technology imperceptibly and consciously in the process of organic integration of mathematical content and written knowledge, and their information literacy is gradually improved. As time goes on, students will gradually use other information skills.

2. Information technology teachers cooperate with teachers from other disciplines to carry out teaching.

Information technology teachers should often contact teachers from other disciplines, exchange information on education and teaching, and explore cooperative education and teaching. As a learning tool, information technology can play a role in learning other knowledge once students master it. It is helpful for the study of other subjects. For example, when learning the use of "drawing, PPT" software, you can contact the art teacher; Learn "EXCEL", communicate with math teachers ... and discuss teaching cooperation. Practice has proved that the cooperation between the two sides is conducive to the study of information technology and other disciplines. 3. Information technology teachers and teachers from other disciplines jointly assign homework.

Teachers properly arrange some exercises in using information technology to make students' information skills useful. For example, the preview homework of Chinese class "See the clouds and know the weather": look up some information about clouds and weather on the Internet and communicate in class. In this way, students can use network knowledge in information technology classes. After learning the use of electronic slides, you can contact the natural science teacher: let students reflect the conclusions of their small experiments and investigations in the form of electronic slides and display them in the multimedia classroom for everyone to learn and communicate. Imagine how happy students will be when they stand on the podium and show slides to introduce their achievements! Can you say that their information literacy has not improved?

Through the cooperation with teachers in other disciplines, not only does it not increase students' burden, but it also increases the opportunities of applying information technology to study, changes students' learning methods to a certain extent, greatly improves students' information technology application ability and effectively improves students' information literacy.

Fifth, strengthen the classroom teaching of information technology to improve students' information ability.

Information ability is the core of information literacy. Teachers should change their ideas. The relationship between teachers and students is learning and communication, not active and passive. Teaching should fully embody the principle of "teacher-oriented and student-centered". Emphasize students' subjectivity, so that students can truly become the subject of information processing and the active builder of knowledge, and improve their information ability in the process of active learning.

I believe that it is just around the corner to actively create an information technology application atmosphere, strive to create information technology application opportunities, cultivate students' awareness of actively applying information technology, improve students' information skills and gradually improve students' information literacy.
