Maglev train is a novel means of transportation, and Shanghai Pudong is building the world's first practical maglev train track. In teaching, we often talk about the great changes in Shanghai and the rapid development of Pudong, so we should mention the maglev train. Making a model of maglev vehicle can help students better understand the principle of maglev and the characteristics of fast driving due to low friction.

Two problems must be solved to make a successful maglev train model. 1. How does the model float in the magnetic orbit? How does the second mode move forward quickly?

The method I adopted: the car model is suspended by the principle that the same poles of magnets repel each other, and the car model is pushed forward by the electric propeller.

Production method:

1. track: Saw a disk with a diameter of 50 cm with a five-splint, and stick a plastic magnetic stripe (available in hardware store) around the disk with Black & Decker as the track (as shown in the figure).

2. Car model: A simple locomotive model is made of wood strips, motors and other materials.

3. Suspension method: the locomotive model is placed on the magnetic track of the disk, and the model is suspended on the track by using the principle that like poles repel each other.

4. Suspension limit method: use a piece of wood with a length of about 25 cm, one end is drilled and inserted on the central shaft, and the other end is stuck on the maglev vehicle model, so that the model is limited above the disc track and suspended. First, pull the test by hand, and ask the maglev vehicle to move easily around the center of the circle.

5. Power: install a plastic propeller on a small motor, and the electric propeller rotates to generate electricity.

6. The power supply is external. Use two No.5 batteries as power supply (one for forward power supply and the other for reverse power supply). The bidirectional knife is used as a switch to control the forward and backward movement of the vehicle.
