Tiantai Mountain Buddhist College aims to promote Buddhism and revitalize Tiantai Sect of Buddhism, and aims to cultivate specialized monks who love their country and religion and can seriously study Tiantai Sect. It is a matter of pride for teachers and students to live beside the tower of the wise master known as "Little Oriental Sakyamuni". Here is the holy land of Tiantai Sect, where eminent monks come forth in large numbers and great virtues gather: Master Zhang 'an of Sui went in and out of Buddhist Dragon to gather his teachings; During the Tang Dynasty, Zhan Ran, a master in Jingxi, lived in Gaoming Temple nearby all his life and taught at the rooftop of Zhongxing. In the Ming Dynasty, Youxi had a lantern master, who inherited the clan style and revived the teachings. In the Qing Dynasty, the masters of western Fujian rebuilt temples and trained monks ... All kinds of ups and downs left traces among the sea of clouds, mountains and pines, and teachers and students who were far away from the world shouldered the heavy responsibility of revitalizing Tiantai Sect! With this belief, they studied diligently and respected each other, and gradually formed a diligent, law-abiding, tolerant and harmonious style of study in the Buddhist College.
Unlike other schools, Buddhist colleges have strict academic constraints. In the past two years, some monks who couldn't keep up with the course or couldn't stand the cold and cheerless left, but more people stayed. Plus a few, there are 30 monks. The monthly living expenses (including clothes and books) are more than 0/00 yuan/kloc. They eat vegetarian food with two meals and one soup, live a monotonous life, are willing to be lonely and indifferent, and stick to this tranquility. At first, when they came here, the local villagers laughed at them for being "not lazy and not becoming a monk", but now, seeing their efforts and self-discipline, they have changed their views and respected them very much.
After intense study, Master Yue Zhen, Dean of the College, arranges all teachers and students to visit famous ancient temples or scenic spots collectively every semester to nourish their temperament in the lakes and mountains. Monks will also take time to participate in various sports activities, because they are "healthy and prosperous". In order to understand the hardships of walking life, some wizards and monks still travel together with bamboo sticks and hats on weekends. A few years later, their footprints were almost all over Tiantai Mountain, and their bodies and wills were tempered.
Teachers and students of the Buddhist College adhere to the principle of "coming from all directions and returning from all directions" and often give alms along with the fate. There is a primary school in Taiping Village, north of Buddha Feng Long, with relatively simple conditions. Teachers and students of the Buddhist College regularly donate part of their meager salaries. Every year on New Year's Day and June 1st, they go to express their condolences and send DVD players, electric fans, candy and other things. Over time, the two sides forged a profound friendship. When they first came to Tatou, naughty pupils often sang "Little Monk, Logger Vick" to them. Now, primary school students ask them from a distance: "Good master."
In a blink of an eye, two years have passed, and the monks have written their graduation thesis this semester and will go to various monasteries for inspection next semester. After graduation, according to their hobbies and specialties, some will become lecturers, some will participate in temple management, and some will continue to practice. Wan Hong, a Buddhist monk, once said, "I think it's boring to be a man after eating and cooking. I often run temples and feel close to Buddhism, so I became a monk. " I have been to three Buddhist colleges, and I feel that the environment here is good, the courses are good and the teaching quality is high, so I will stay here. "He said that after graduation, he would go back to Master's small temple to practice the Guanyin method.
When the Buddhist College enrolls students next year, it plans to select seven or eight outstanding students from the first session to attend graduate classes to learn the three departments of Tiantai-Fahua Xuanyi, Fawenhua Sentence, Maha Zhiguan and related classics, so as to further promote Tiantai Buddhism.
