Abstract: Honesty is the basic moral standard of citizens and the basic moral quality that college students must possess. At present, there is a certain degree of lack of honesty among college students. This paper analyzes the main manifestations and reasons of college students' lack of honesty, and probes into the ways of honesty education.
As a citizen's moral standard, honesty, no fraud and keeping promises are its basic connotations. In China's long traditional society with Confucianism as the main guiding ideology, honesty has played an active and effective role. In modern society, traditional honesty and morality have been inherited and developed. Honesty is no longer just a moral obligation, but a comprehensive norm of social obligations such as ethics, economy and law. It is one of the most basic social moral norms and values, and a necessary condition for modern social civilization and social order. Inheriting traditional virtues, standardizing moral behavior, being polite, honest and trustworthy are the basic moral qualities that every college student must possess. However, in the face of some unhealthy practices such as fraud and corruption in society, the university campus, which is regarded as a pure land, also has the problem of lack of integrity. Therefore, it is an urgent task of ideological and political education in colleges and universities to analyze the reasons for the lack of honesty among college students and explore ways to strengthen honesty education among college students.

1. The influence of social environment. Contemporary college students grew up in the tide of reform and opening up in China.
