Someone asked me that scientists have not found ghosts and gods yet. What happened? One thing we can be sure of is that the world is not created by human beings, but naturally formed, so there are some things in the world that human beings can't understand. Throughout the ages, many people have understood the world from different angles. Some rely on religion, some rely on science, some rely on philosophy, and some rely on Buddhism. They have different levels and views, so they have different views, because religion is a belief, science is an exploration and practice, philosophy is a logic, and Buddhism is an education. There are many mysterious things in the world, some of which cannot be explained by religion. If religion cannot explain, science can explain; Some things that science cannot explain can be explained by philosophy; Some things that philosophy can't explain can be explained by Buddhism; Some things that Buddhism can't solve can be solved by science. So their opinions are limited and the world is boundless. There are already many things in the world that human beings can't understand, and they will appear in the future.
Some people say that Buddhism does not believe in ghosts and gods, which is somewhat contrary to Buddhism, because Buddhism also talks about ghosts and gods, and Buddhism talks about the six divisions in the wheel of karma, and the hungry ghost road in the six roads is a ghost; The heaven in the Six Paths is God. Buddhism does not worship ghosts and gods, because both of them cannot escape the pain of the six divisions in the wheel of karma, but Buddhism believes that there are real ghosts and gods in the world.
Once, I was in the home of a Buddhist in Beijing, and a friend of the Buddhist brought a person. The friend introduced me to a learned mage who studied Buddhism abroad for three years and closed his door for three years. He opened his eyes and did wonders. He could see the underworld and hear the words of ghosts and gods. The layman also respected the mage and made him a cup of Guanyin iron tea. The mage took a few sips and began to observe the house of the lay man. He said that this house is not suitable for laymen, the geomantic omen is not harmonious, there is something wrong with the furniture, there are evil spirits in the house, the Buddha statues in Buddhist temples are not clean, and laymen are haunted by monsters and snakes. He talked for a long time. I don't think he is a Buddhist at all, but he does know a lot about Buddhism. We ate and chatted together, only to know that he has parents and children in the world. His wife died a few years ago and is now single.
Finally, when we were leaving, the mage asked the layman, "How many people are there in your family?" The layman replied, "I am alone." The mage said, "Aren't you afraid?" "Why?" The mage said, "Aren't you afraid of ghosts in your house?" The layman smiled and said, "What's so terrible about that? I won't hurt them, and ghosts won't hurt me. If I hurt it, let alone ghosts, even people will hurt me. " The mage has nothing to say when he hears the layman say this. I deliberately asked the layman, "Are you really not afraid? Ghosts and gods will eat people! " The layman glanced at the mage and said, "Don't say ghosts eat people. Now some people are worse than animals and want to eat people alive. What is there to be afraid of ghosts? " The mage knew in his heart that he was talking about himself, but pretended not to know, saying, "Those ghosts in your family didn't offend in their lives, but you killed them in your last life, so they came to collect debts." The layman said happily, "They really came to collect debts. I warmly welcome them and thank them. They gave me a chance to pay my debts, so I won't owe them again in my next life. " Once again, the mage has nothing to say.
But he was too cheeky and said, "Aren't you lonely alone?" The layman said, "Master, didn't you say there are many ghosts in my house? How can I be lonely? I have to pay off the ghost debt first, then make friends with the ghost and take care of it. I can chat with them later. I'm afraid I won't have time to take care of you later. " The mage thought that the layman was mentally ill, so he left the layman's house with his friends.
On the way back, I remembered what I met today, and the more I thought about it, the more I felt that this layman said it was very profound. If I don't offend you, you won't hurt me. I have sinned against you and I should be punished; After accepting the punishment, we all stopped caring, reconciled with each other, made friends, and even ghosts and gods became lovely "VIPs". This is the mentality of a true practitioner.
