Only three countries have their own sections: Britain, the United States and China.

The columns of these three sections are all called walter bagehot (UK)-Walter Bagehot, one of the most famous economists, political sociologists and jurists in the UK. Later generations think that Walter walter bagehot is the greatest editor in the history of The Economist. "Perhaps he is a model that the editors of The Economist have been trying to approach but can't surpass". In order to commemorate his outstanding contribution, The Economist, who later became famous in the world, named his column on British politics "Walter walter bagehot Column". The British Political Research Association awards the "Walter walter bagehot Prize" to outstanding papers in the field of politics and public administration every year.

(3) In addition to the China section, the World Week, Leader, Express, Business and other sections often have articles about China.

Usually there is a column in each section.

Bello(Americas)----This America originally refers to Latin America. Economists use it to guide the United States, including Canada, but not the United States. Peyo, a city in central Colombia and an autonomous city, is used as a metaphor for the American plate.

Baobab tree (Africa & Middle East)-This word is also a kind of tree-Baobab tree (an interesting name), which is very common in Africa. There are two versions of the origin of African tree names. This is the name of the indigenous people in black Africa, which means "bottle tree". Another way of saying it is that it evolved from an Arabic word. So the Middle East and Africa are included. This column seems to be gone.

Banyan Tree (Asia) is a new Asian affairs column launched by TE in April 2009. The reason why we chose Bodhi Tree as the column name is that TE thinks Bodhi Tree can best represent the image of Pan Asia. Bodhi tree has a deep relationship with Buddhism. After sitting quietly under the bodhi tree for 7 days and 7 nights, Buddha Sakyamuni realized. Moreover, because merchants in Gujarat, western India, often buy and sell under the shade of bodhi trees, it is named Bodhi Tree. TE believes that Bodhi Tree is a dual symbol of spiritual civilization and material civilization in Asia. In Asia, Bodhi is also inextricably linked with public affairs, which is one of the reasons for their choice.

Charlemagne (Europe)-Charlemagne (AD 742-8 14), or Charlemagne, Caroline King of the Frankish Kingdom, the founder of the Holy Roman Empire. He built a huge empire covering most of western Europe. In 800 AD, the Pope was crowned as the founding emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, with the title of Emperor of Rome. He has made outstanding achievements in administration, justice, military system and economic production, and vigorously developed cultural and educational undertakings. It was he who introduced European civilization, and he was called "the father of Europe" by the late Buddha. So the European plate chose this name.
