A Thinking Guide to the Geographical Significance of the Earth Movement
A: As shown in the figure:

A, the geographical significance of the earth's rotation:

1, alternating day and night

The earth is an unlit and opaque sphere. At the same time, only half of the earth faces the sun, the sunny hemisphere is the day hemisphere and the sunny hemisphere is the night hemisphere. Due to rotation, day and night alternate continuously, with a period of about 24 hours.

2. Time difference

Because the earth rotates from west to east, the sunrise time seen in different places at the same latitude will be sooner or later, resulting in local time.

3. Objects moving horizontally on the surface will deflect.

The northern hemisphere leans to the right and the southern hemisphere leans to the left.

Second, the significance of the earth's revolution:

1, the change of sun height at noon

Because of the existence of the ecliptic angle, the direct point of the sun moves north and south, which leads to the regular change of the height of the sun with latitude and season at noon.

2, the change of the length of day and night

The terminator line divides the latitude circle on the earth into two parts, the daytime arc of the daytime hemisphere and the nighttime arc of the nighttime hemisphere. The length of solar arc and night arc reflects the length of day and night in this latitude area. Because of the intersection of yellow and red, the direct point of the sun moves north and south, thus changing the length of day and night in the same place.

3. The change of four seasons and the division of five regions

In a year, with the change of the length of day and night and the height of the sun around the earth at noon, the solar radiation energy reaching the ground is different, resulting in the seasonal change of the earth's surface in time and the division of five zones in space.
