Zhang Yu Teachers College is located in Hongjiaozhou University Park, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province. It is a public full-time undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education. The school is the only municipal undergraduate college jointly established by provinces and cities, which has been given priority by Nanchang Municipal People's Government. It is a normal college that mainly trains teachers of basic education such as preschool education, primary education and special education.

The school has advanced hardware facilities, including modern teaching facilities such as voice classroom, microteaching room, children's music composition room, rhythm room for hearing-impaired college students and speech rehabilitation training room.
