What kind of award is the M Prize in America?
Mercer's M Prize is the first prize.

The winning proportion of each award in USA is as follows:

O- grand prize, accounting for 0.5% of the total number of players;

F— nomination of candidates for grand prize, accounting for1%of the total number of players;

M- first prize, accounting for13% of the total number of players;

H- second prize, accounting for 30% of the total number of players; S- Successful Entry Award, accounting for 55% of the total number of players. A good school can probably win 20% to 30% prizes, like the 985 science and engineering school, which means that about 10 teams win the first prize a year.

There are six awards in the United States, namely, Outstanding Award, Final Award, Meritorious Award, Honor Award, Success Award and Failure Award. These awards are abbreviated as O, F, M, H, S and U respectively.

Grading of American competition awards

Mcm is one of the four awards set by American college students' mathematical modeling competition, namely, outstanding award, final award, meritorious award, honorary award and successful entry award. In China, it is customary to correspond these four awards to the grand prize, the grand prize candidate prize, the first prize and the second prize respectively, and successfully participate in the competition.

The official events sponsored by the National Organizing Committee for Mathematical Modeling of College Students are the same as the National Games, but the gold content is much higher than that of the National Games and the American Games. The competition is an elite competition, and undergraduates, graduate students and even experts can sign up for it. There are four questions every year, all of which are difficult and practical.

The time span of the competition is also very long. The topic will be given in mid-April, and the final defense will be given in August, with the aim of making real academic achievements. Only one team can be recommended to participate in the defense of the national finals for each of the four topics. Generally, there are 15-20 teams in each topic that can advance to the finals. The final prizes are the first prize for each topic (Shenzhen Cup champion, each team 10000 bonus), the second prize for two teams (6000 bonus for each team) and the third prize for three teams (3000 bonus for each team). Other teams that entered the finals won the excellent thesis (nomination) award.

A brief introduction to the beauty contest

The American College Student Mathematical Modeling Competition (MCM/ICM), sponsored by the American Federation of Mathematics and Its Applications, is the highest-level mathematical modeling competition in the world and the most influential mathematical modeling competition in the world. The content of the competition involves many fields such as economy, management, environment, resources, ecology, medicine and safety.
