Literally, a reference is a document cited in the writing process, such as an article or a book. However, according to GB/T 77 14-20 15, the reference after the text refers to the relevant literature information resources cited for writing or editing papers and works.
According to the requirements of "China Academic Journals (CD-ROM Edition) Retrieval and Evaluation Data Standard" and "China University Social Science Journals Arrangement Standard (Revised Edition)", many publications distinguish between references and annotations, and define annotations as "words that further explain or supplement a certain content in the text", which are listed at the end of the article, separated from references or placed in the footer.

Place the cursor where the reference is quoted, select "Insert Footnotes and Endnotes" on the menu bar, select endnotes in the pop-up dialog box, and click the option button to change the numbering format to Arabic numerals, and the position is "End of Document". After confirmation, Word will insert the reference number at the cursor.
And automatically jump to the corresponding number at the end of the document. Please type the description of the reference and add the corresponding document here according to the format of the reference description table. Then click the small arrow below the reference footnote, and a custom dialog box appears. Then enter brackets and numbers, click Insert, and then automatically jump to the end of this section/this document, and then enter the quotation.
