The Function and Significance of Chorus Conductor
Conductor is a unique performing art work, and the gesture of guiding chorus members to sing during stage performance is called "conductor". The conductor must face many chorus members in the performance, not only pay attention to the coordination of timbre and the balance of voices, but also give the chorus members tips with clear and simple actions. The conductor should be responsible for the whole spectrum and know every voice that comes in and out like the back of his hand.

As a conductor, we should strengthen the following aspects:

1. Conductor is the soul of chorus. It must have strong organization and coordination ability, so as to unite the whole chorus.

Second, the conductor should have good musical understanding and expression ability, be able to perceive the emotional treatment of musical works, and then express it to the chorus members through his own understanding image.

Third, the conductor should have extensive musical knowledge and profound cultural accomplishment, and be able to understand the styles of musical works in different periods, which is more conducive to understanding and grasping the works and recreating the chorus works.

For the mass chorus, the members of the chorus are not professional music groups and do not have relatively professional music knowledge and cultivation. In the process of mass chorus, we should emphasize the entrance and exit position of each voice, and exaggerate the necessary hints for each voice in gestures and actions. Before the chorus rehearsal, the conductor must first make some necessary preparations. First, choose the right work. It not only has a certain artistic effect, but also causes the audience to sing. Second, analyze the works. Understand the background and style characteristics of the work, understand the emotional expression level of the work, and conduct in-depth research on the ventilation position of each voice and the strength of the phrase. Third, design and direct actions. Actions should be concise and clear, avoid unnecessary command actions, give musical emotion to the command actions, and mobilize the singing passion of the whole chorus. In addition, every phrase that needs attention can be slightly marked.
