Guangdong Jiujiang Bridge is a large bridge on National Highway 325, which is located between Jiujiang Town, Nanhai District, Foshan City, Guangdong Province and Jiezhou City, Heshan City, and crosses the main stream of Xijiang River in the Pearl River system. It is a super-large highway bridge on Guangzhou-Zhanjiang Highway, with a total length of1.675.2m, a tower-beam-pier consolidation system and a clear bridge deck width of1.6m.. Among them, the main bridge is composed of 160m two-hole (span 2× 160m) single-tower concrete cable-stayed bridge and 2 1 50m continuous box girder with total length of 1370m. The approach bridge consists of a 20-hole 16m pretensioned concrete hollow slab with a total length of 320m and a tower height of 80m. Construction started in September, 1985, and was officially completed and opened to traffic in June, 1988. Main technical features
1. Adopt 3m large diameter, variable cross-section and deep-water drilled rock-socketed pile foundation, with the maximum pile length of 70m;;
2. Adopt H-shaped cross-section and horizontally partitioned tower column structure;
3. The main girder is directly assembled by segmental cantilever with floating crane;
4. The stay cables are made of hot extruded polyethylene anticorrosion sleeves;
5. The 690-meter-long continuous box girder is constructed with flexible piers and multi-point incremental launching method;
6. Large displacement expansion joint device is adopted, and the expansion amount is 56cm.
Guangdong Jiujiang bridge
The bridge was designed and constructed by "Guangdong Jiujiang Bridge Engineering Contracting Company" composed of Guangdong Highway Engineering Office, Guangdong Highway Design Institute, Hunan Road and Bridge Company, Hunan Traffic Design Institute and Guangdong Traffic Science Research Institute.
The completion of the bridge connects Foshan and Jiangmen.
According to reports, Jiujiang Bridge is a 2× 160m prestressed concrete cable-stayed bridge with single tower and double cable planes, which was designed by Guangdong Provincial Highway Survey Planning and Design Institute, and 1990 won the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award. 199 1 won the bronze award of national excellent design.
