The founding date of Chang 'an University can be traced back to 195 1 year, which was formed by the merger of three subordinate colleges, namely Xi 'an Highway Jiaotong University, Xi 'an Engineering College and Northwest Institute of Architecture and Engineering, on April 18, 2000.

Xi Highway Jiaotong University was formerly known as195/kloc-0 Northwest Jiaotong School, which was established in Lanzhou in April, 1952 and moved eastward to Xi 'an in June, and was renamed as Xi Automobile Machinery School of the Ministry of Communications. 1956, Beijing Highway Institute was established by the state. 1958, the Preparatory Committee of Beijing Highway College merged with Xi 'an Automobile Machinery School to form Xi 'an Highway College, which is subordinate to the Ministry of Communications and gradually developed into a university with the most complete professional facilities for highway transportation in Asia. 1995 was renamed as Xi' an Highway Jiaotong University, and 1997 entered the national "2 1 1 project" to build a key university.

Xi Institute of Technology, formerly known as Xi Geology School of the Ministry of Geology, was founded in 1953. 1978 was renamed Xi' an Institute of Geology, which belongs to the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources. 1996 was renamed Xi' an polytechnic, and 1998 was under the Ministry of Land and Resources.

With the approval of the National Leading Group for Philosophy and Social Science Planning, the 2006 National Social Science Fund Project "Research on the Theory and Countermeasures of Coordinated Development of Urban Agglomerations in Western China" declared by Professor Dang Xinghua of the School of Business Administration of our school was approved with the approval number of 06BJL59 and the funding amount of 80,000 yuan. This is the fourth national social science planning project continuously obtained by the School of Business Administration. This study takes the coordinated development of western urban agglomeration as the research object, and will theoretically reveal the interaction mechanism among cities in the western urban agglomeration, and analyze the influencing factors and internal mechanisms of the coordinated development of urban agglomeration, which is of guiding significance for correctly understanding the laws of urbanization and urban agglomeration development in China and accelerating the urbanization process in China, especially in the western region. In terms of practical application value, combined with the development characteristics of urban agglomerations in the western region, this paper puts forward countermeasures and policy suggestions to promote the coordinated development of urban agglomerations in the western region, and provides decision-making reference for promoting the coordinated development of urbanization and economy in the western region.

With the approval of Shaanxi Provincial Department of Science and Technology and Shaanxi Provincial Department of Finance, the project of "Six-axis CNC Finishing Machine Tool" presided by Professor Huang Yumei of our school was funded by Shaanxi Provincial Major Scientific and Technological Innovation Project Plan (project number: 2005ZKC0 1-0 1), with a funding amount of 500,000 yuan. This is the second time in a row that the school has been supported by major scientific and technological innovation projects in Shaanxi Province. This project will focus on the innovative design and development technology of the reconfigurable scheme of six-axis CNC finishing machine tools, study the machining technology of complex contours and curved surfaces on the existing experimental prototype, carry out the innovative design of the reconfigurable scheme of the highly flexible multi-directional swinging spindle head, and realize the innovative product design, virtual prototype simulation, CNC system development and new product manufacturing of six-axis CNC finishing machine tools. The completion of six-axis CNC finishing machine tool will add a high-level special CNC machine tool with independent intellectual property rights for finishing in China. After the new product is developed by the market, the profit can reach more than 50%.

The final of the 3rd "UFIDA Cup" national ERP sandbox competition for college students was held in Beijing UFIDA Software Park from July 28th to 29th.
