How to Cultivate Children's Environmental Awareness
The strength of environmental awareness is an important content of a country's national quality. To improve people's awareness of environmental protection, we must start with family education and school education, so that children can establish environmental awareness from an early age and consciously safeguard the natural environment on which we live. The following is my immature view. 1. As geography teachers, we should stick to textbooks and infiltrate environmental education into classroom teaching. There are many rich contents of environmental education in junior high school geography textbooks in the current new curriculum standard, which requires our geography teachers to study the textbooks carefully, dig deep into the environmental education factors in the textbooks, combine the students' cognitive level, choose the educational theme that matches the teaching and environmental education, seize the opportunity in time, and complete the infiltration of environmental education. For example, in the preface of the first volume of the seventh grade, there are two good environmental education themes. The first is the "collapse of the kingdom of Babylon" listed in the textbook. Teachers can guide students to analyze the reasons for the demise of the garden city of Babylon in history, and let students realize that only by respecting the laws of nature and being friends with nature can human beings survive better, otherwise they will be punished by nature. In fact, there are many similar examples in China, such as the demise of the ancient country of Loulan, the serious soil erosion on the Loess Plateau, the reasons for the expansion of land desertification and so on. We can ask students to consult information on the Internet in their spare time and write special papers, which will not only broaden their knowledge, but also make them further realize the importance of environmental protection. The second is when talking about "sustainable development". There is a sentence in the book: "The natural environment and resources on which we live are not only inherited from our parents, but also borrowed from future generations." Through the understanding of this sentence, students can understand that we should not be selfish people in the use of resources, but should learn to use resources reasonably and economically. For another example, when studying "the population of China", students can cite various facts and data to discuss "whether China is really rich in natural resources and rich in resources", so that students can understand that the rapid growth of population not only restricts the economic development, but also accelerates the utilization of resources and increases the degree of waste to some extent. In short, in classroom teaching, we should always pay attention to guiding students' interest in learning, especially to discuss outstanding environmental problems in real life in combination with teaching materials, stimulate students' enthusiasm and strong interest in studying problems and learning knowledge, and infiltrate the concept of environmental protection into every student's mind in lively classroom teaching. As class teachers, we should cultivate children's awareness of environmental protection through various educational channels. In school education, the work of the class teacher is the most important, and the ideological education of students is its core component. As the saying goes, "the benefits of the moon come first", the class teacher should seize this favorable condition and seize the opportunity to cultivate children's awareness of environmental protection. For example, a class teacher can give lectures on environmental protection knowledge by means of class meetings and team activities, hold debates on related topics, learn environmental protection laws formulated by the state, and talk about whether he has neglected environmental protection. The head teacher should have a pair of keen eyes, be good at finding problems in life, and educate students to learn environmental protection in small things. For example, when cleaning the classroom one day, the students on duty found a gel pen without water, and no one claimed it. Because I usually observe that most students in the class bought a pen and put it there for use, and never changed the refill. This phenomenon is also very common in other classes. At that time, I was deeply touched and said to the whole class with a pen: "Although I don't know if this pen was accidentally dropped by my classmates or thrown away after using it, what I want to say is that you can change the refill instead of changing the pen when the water is used up. Because doing so not only wastes parents' hard-earned money, but also wastes resources and produces unnecessary garbage. " It can be said that the students in this school have excellent family conditions, so the waste phenomenon is more serious. This requires us, as class teachers, to be good at observing, capture the cases around us in time and guide them correctly, instead of boring reasoning education. Later, I put a pen container on the podium to store unclaimed learning tools. Its purpose is: first, let students learn to care for their own things; Second, let students not waste resources at will; Third, let these things reflect the value-to provide convenience for teachers and waste utilization. For example, in the dormitory, we can pay attention to whether they waste water and electricity and whether they use electric fans and air conditioners at the same time. In the dining hall, we can pay attention to whether they have the habit of using disposable bowls and chopsticks, whether the faucet is turned on after washing the dishes, ……; Whenever and wherever, we can ask students to drink from water cups and ask them not to buy bottled mineral water or pure water as much as possible. I still remember that on the first day of military training, because the school uniformly distributed mineral water, many children did not know which bottle of water was their own after drinking it, so they threw it away in vain, and some were almost the whole bottle. The scene at that time made my heart ache. At night, when I was repairing, I told the students about it, told them to learn to make marks and made demands. Whoever wastes another drop of water will be fined to buy a box of water. Of course, this is just to scare them. Unexpectedly, in the next few days, every child drank water first and then threw away the bottle. In short, as a class teacher, I often "set an example". I will do what I ask my children to do first, and I will never do what I ask my children not to do. As parents, we should set an example and always pay attention to cultivating children's awareness of environmental protection. Parents are the first teachers for children to learn, and the formation of many children's behavior habits directly comes from their parents' influence and education. However, many parents in China often don't do what they say and do, so they can't set an example for their children. So, let's first look at how foreigners educate their children. The British should educate children aged five or six to know which are recycled "environmentally friendly tableware" and which plastic bags may become "permanent garbage" that pollutes the environment. Before going out for an outing, they will make their own drinks under the guidance of their parents, buy as little ready-made food as possible and pay attention to saving water and electricity, because they know that "abusing resources is infringing on environmental protection." Japanese people pay attention to diet education, and environmental education is one of the important contents. They tell children what can and can't be eaten, what creatures should protect it and what animals should not be eaten casually, so as to improve their overall quality. In Germany, three-year-old children go to kindergarten. In the first week, the teacher taught them three things. What knowledge do you think it is? I may not understand. The first thing is to let the children know that they can't leave at the red light. The second thing is to tell the children what the trash can is for, and it is used to throw garbage. Three-year-old children know from an early age that garbage should be thrown into the trash can. The third is self-help. The teacher taught them what the fire hydrants on the roadside were for. There is a car at home. If there is a fire, turn on the fire hydrant to put out the fire. I remember that on the second day of the Golden Week last year 1 1 month, more than 80 Korean tourists, including more than 30 children, collectively picked up garbage in Nanshan Scenic Area in Urumqi. This time, the action of "foreigners" picking up garbage naturally caused heated discussion, and some people shouted embarrassment. However, this incident reminds us that to establish environmental awareness, we should start from me and start now. Maybe we can't stop industrial wastewater and domestic sewage by ourselves, but we can start from the side, such as washing machines without phosphorus-containing washing powder; Store the water for washing vegetables for mopping the floor, which can be reused; ..... These are all examples that we use to cultivate children's environmental awareness. Parents in Dongguan have two good practices to cultivate their children's environmental awareness. The first is that although everyone is rich, they always pack the leftovers when eating out, which invisibly teaches children to learn to save. The second is that they never use disposable tableware when delivering meals to their children, which is also a manifestation of environmental protection. In fact, in daily life, as parents, we have many places to cultivate children's awareness of environmental protection, such as teaching children how to save water and electricity, refusing to use disposable goods, not littering, storing garbage in different categories, and educating children not to trample on the lawn at will. More importantly, as parents, we must set an example. Environmental consciousness is the basic subconscious of animals, including higher animals-human beings. Everyone knows that environmental protection is very important, and everyone knows that there is only one earth. However, environmental protection is not just a matter for one person, but for our whole society and all mankind. Let us remember what Al Gore, the former vice president of the United States, said in his book The Earth on the Edge of Imbalance: "The environmental crisis can be said to be as real as rain. I can't stand that we will leave a broken earth and a depressing future for our children! " So I hope that each of us should improve our quality. From now on, from today, we should start from ourselves and things around us, so that foreigners will stop picking up garbage in China, and our environment will become beautiful, and there will be no more scenes of garbage flying around.
