In order to meet the needs of economic development, many garment enterprises have gradually developed from the traditional small workshops mainly dealing with incoming materials to comprehensive enterprises integrating fabric research and development, product design, production and sales. In addition, with the progress of science and technology and the increase of foreign exchanges and cooperation, many new equipment, new processes and new technologies are gradually applied to the process of clothing design, production and sales. The vigorous development of garment enterprises urgently needs high-quality workers. Therefore, vocational education must face up to the changes in the demand for talents in the development of enterprises and explore ways to improve the vocational skills of students majoring in clothing to meet the requirements of enterprises.
2. Vocational school students' cultural foundation is generally poor, and the phenomenon of learning weariness is widespread. It is difficult to make them welcome the talents of enterprises through two years' study in school. As a school, we must seriously study the current situation of students and the requirements of enterprises, and teach students in accordance with their aptitude. This project was approved by Tongzhou Education and Scientific Research Leading Group in June, 20001. After the project was established, the research group carefully designed the research scheme with the guidance and help of the school teaching department. After that, the research group decomposed the whole research into tasks, so that the tasks could be implemented by people. All members carried out systematic research work according to the division of labor and time deployment. In September, 20001year, the school adjusted the positions of middle-level cadres in the school, and the former project leader, Comrade Li Peixi, was transferred from the Department of Clothing Technology. The research group immediately made it clear that Comrade Jiang, director of the clothing technology department, was the head of the research group and was specifically responsible for the research work of this topic. In August 2005, Comrade Jiang was transferred from the Ministry of Clothing Technology, and was then the assistant to the principal, the director of the Ministry of Clothing Technology, Comrade Gu Qiang, and the deputy director of the Ministry of Clothing Technology, responsible for the post-project organization. In the specific research process, we focus on three aspects of work.

At the beginning of the project, many comrades joined the research group with a bright vision for education and scientific research. All these have become obstacles to promote the research of this subject. In order to ensure the normal progress of the research, we actively organize all members to study relevant theories collectively as a research group to help everyone improve their theoretical literacy. Comrade Jiang, the leader of the research group, has participated in the Nantong teaching and research training class. He is the main participant of the Ninth Five-Year Plan project in Nantong, and has a certain understanding of teaching and research work. To this end, this comrade has held lectures for members of the research group many times, especially on scientific research methods, in combination with his own work practice. The relevant teaching and scientific research lectures organized by the school were attended by all the staff seriously, which effectively improved the professional level of the members of the research group.
2. Strengthen the overall control of the subject. It is an inevitable requirement for the development of clothing specialty to carry out this research, which comes from reality and serves reality. In order to truly serve education and teaching, it is very important to control the whole research. To this end, we have made efforts from two aspects. First, the investigation and analysis of the current clothing industry market have been strengthened. We organize specialized personnel to conduct many investigations on the enterprise, understand the current development trend of the enterprise, especially the brand marketing strategy under the new situation, and then predict the future development trend and direction of the clothing industry. Through the investigation of the current situation of enterprises, we can understand the talent specifications needed by clothing enterprises, analyze the existing training objectives of clothing specialty, and clarify the problems to be solved in this topic. Moreover, the investigation and analysis run through the whole research process, which improves the timeliness and pertinence of the research. Second, the coordination of subject research has been effectively strengthened. At the beginning of the study, we decomposed the tasks and defined the division of labor. But the research is a systematic project, which needs the cooperation of all parts and links, so the division of labor is not fragmented. In the research process, we pay attention to the coordination between sub-topics and sub-topics. According to the progress of the sub-project, the research group meeting will be held from time to time to inform each other of their research progress, research results and research experience, learn from each other, and study the next step to improve the efficiency of research.
3. The pilot reform has been intensified. In the whole research process, we always adhere to the reform pilot, especially the reform of teaching mode and teaching method. We initiated the "hierarchical" teaching reform of cultural courses and the "project teaching" reform of specialized courses. In particular, vigorously promote the reform of "project teaching" and make a useful attempt to effectively improve students' professional skills. All the professional teachers of clothing major participated in the practice, and only cooperated with the reform to compile more than ten school-based textbooks. At the pilot report meeting of "Project Teaching" reform organized by our school, we fully demonstrated the reform results, and the school organized a review meeting for the reform papers of "Project Teaching". All the members of this research group have written papers and won prizes.

In China, the clothing industry is a comprehensive industry. At the same time, the clothing discipline is a marginal discipline, involving art, chemical industry, textile, visual communication, marketing, management, computer and other aspects of knowledge. This requires practitioners to have a compound knowledge structure and strong comprehensive ability. Traditional clothing teaching is a typical mentoring model; At that time, domestic garment enterprises were engaged in simple processing, so the workers recruited only needed to sew, that is, sewing workers in the traditional sense. However, with China's entry into WTO, garment enterprises have changed from the original processing of incoming materials into comprehensive enterprises with self-research, brand creation and self-respect marketing, and garment enterprises are aiming at comprehensive garment talents who can engage in design, research and development, production management, planning and marketing. In addition, the training goal of clothing major in secondary vocational schools is to produce front-line technical blue-collar workers for enterprises, which requires us to change the training of clothing professionals from traditional simple operation to compound and comprehensive talents. Therefore, students need to know not only the basic drawing and sewing techniques, but also the knowledge of fabric science, fine arts, design science, computer, marketing management, textiles and so on, as well as the knowledge of industrial production process management and the technical essentials of relevant key positions in industrial production, such as plate making and quality inspection.

At this time, because their course is fashion design and the course is relatively isolated, students can't continue to develop in fabric design, home design and fashion design, so they have to turn to fashion design.
