First, the transition from "elite" to "mass"
With the expansion of the enrollment scale of colleges and universities in the middle and late 1990s, the enrollment rate of higher education in China is at a high level. In 2005, the total number of students in higher education exceeded 23 million, and the gross enrollment rate reached more than 2 1%. The rapid development of higher education has better satisfied the people's desire to receive higher education. With the advancement of higher education from elite education to mass education, the employment mode of college students will inevitably change from the graduate employment mode formed in elite education to the graduate employment mode formed in mass education.
In the stage of elite education, because higher education is a scarce resource, the status of the educated is bound to improve, and they are called "favored by heaven" and implement the employment model of "all-inclusive and unified". In the popularization stage of higher education, it is no longer necessary to "cross a wooden bridge with thousands of troops" and college students are no longer called "favored children". College students are ordinary people, and the employment of college graduates is the same as that of ordinary people looking for jobs. "Two-way choice and independent employment" is the main form of employment at present. All walks of life in society need college students, not only to be workers, but also to start their own businesses. As long as college students create value for the society and realize their own value through honest labor, it is advocated by the society now. Only when the quality of workers is generally improved can society develop better.
Second, the transformation from "city" to "grass-roots"
At present, on the one hand, the employment of college graduates faces some difficulties and problems, on the other hand, there is still a shortage of talents at the grassroots level, especially in the western region, hard and remote areas, hard industries and vast rural areas. Some counties and cities can provide much better jobs and treatment than cities, but many college students are still reluctant to go, thinking that they have wronged themselves. In fact, the grassroots are vast and contain countless opportunities. College students can regard grass-roots employment as the beginning of starting a business and becoming a successful person. They have accumulated experience and increased their talents through national conditions and public opinion. College students should lower their employment attitude and improve their life goals. It is rational and realistic to choose grass-roots employment when urban employment has become saturated. Since 2004, our school has successively carried out the work of serving the west, teaching in the countryside and selecting Selected Graduates. And many preferential policies have been introduced, which not only broaden employment channels and provide more jobs for students, but also guide and educate graduates' employment outlook. In the service plan for the western region and rural old-age education, many outstanding graduates emerged and won unanimous praise from the society and units. Our school has also emerged a number of outstanding graduates who have served at the grassroots level, such as Liang Huashan and Wu. They showed their value and ability at the grassroots level, winning honor for themselves and their alma mater!
Third, the transformation from "public" units to "non-public" units.
Under the influence of traditional professional concepts, people all hope to find jobs and develop in government agencies, institutions or large state-owned enterprises, rather than collective enterprises or private enterprises. However, due to various reasons (such as institutional reasons, industrial structure reasons, losses, etc. ), government agencies, science, education, culture and health institutions, scientific research institutes and large foreign-funded enterprises have limited ability to absorb college graduates, and it is difficult to accept a large number of college graduates for employment.
With the deepening of reform and opening up, the number of private and individual enterprises has increased greatly, which has brought a large demand for talents. In the past, college students were worried that private enterprises were small in scale, low in management level and had no future for individuals. It is suspected that the management of private enterprises is not standardized and the welfare benefits are not guaranteed; I am also afraid that private enterprises will be unstable and the office environment will be poor. Nowadays, great changes have taken place in private enterprises, especially in developed coastal areas. The salary survey in the talent market shows that the income level of private enterprises is even comparable to that of foreign-funded enterprises, and the flexible employment mechanism and incentive mechanism of private enterprises have created better personal development space for talents than other units. With the establishment and perfection of social endowment insurance, unemployment insurance and housing accumulation fund system, there is no need to worry about personal protection issues such as the payment of the four funds in private enterprises.
Fourth, the transformation from "professional counterparts" to "universal talents"
Many college students put special emphasis on professional counterparts when they are employed. They believe that the miscellaneous industries that universities have spent several years learning are the foundation of their own survival. If you leave your major and choose other industries, it will waste the time of the university, and the professional situation will still affect the job hunting psychology. In fact, most employers' standards for recruiting talents are: paying attention to the personal ability and comprehensive quality of candidates. As for whether the majors are completely matched, don't worry too much. The division of labor in modern society is becoming more and more detailed, and it is difficult for the professional knowledge learned during school to match the actual needs. It is difficult to find a suitable job if you put too much emphasis on professional counterparts in the job search process. An entrepreneurial graduate should pay attention to the development prospect of the industry, adjust his career choice direction in time, and dare to enter similar or related occupations.
At present, China is in the period of economic transformation and system transition. With the structural adjustment, some industries are bound to develop rapidly, such as post and telecommunications, financial insurance and social services in the tertiary industry, and the number of employed people will increase substantially. Because our educational structure can't adapt to the adjustment of industrial structure, it is bound to make graduates of some majors unable to find jobs corresponding to their majors. University education is not only to learn professional knowledge and skills, but also to cultivate college students' comprehensive quality and ability. When college students enter a new field, they will integrate and adapt faster and better than those without higher education.
The change of verb (abbreviation of verb) from "part-time job" to "starting a business"
Part-time job is a passive employment behavior, while self-employment is an active employment behavior. The new generation of college students are full of energy, have a strong passion to challenge and realize themselves, have no burden, don't care much, have a high level of education, have a solid professional foundation, have a sense of innovation, have a strong ability to learn knowledge independently, and are good at accepting new knowledge.
Judging from the current employment situation, the national macro-policy encourages college students to start their own businesses, and the establishment of the socialist market system and the development of the market economy provide a good social environment for the majority of graduates to start their own businesses. Entrepreneurship, which contains the words opportunity and challenge, has become the dream of countless college students. China has also produced a large number of college entrepreneurs, many of whom are very successful models.
