Professor Li Xiaoxin returned to China from 1986 after receiving his doctorate from the Eye Hospital of Essen University in the Federal Republic of Germany. 199 1 Received Humboldt Scholarship from Germany to complete postdoctoral research.

Professor Li has always insisted on working in ophthalmology medical treatment, teaching and scientific research. Professor Li's main research and medical direction is vitreoretinopathy, especially complex retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy and eye trauma. She has been devoted to the research and treatment of retinal vitreous surgery and fundus diseases for a long time, and is one of the pioneers of modern vitreous surgery in China.

At the 22nd Annual Meeting of Asia-Pacific Ophthalmology Society held in Lahore in 2007, Professor Li Xiaoxin from the Department of Ophthalmology of Peking University People's Hospital was awarded the "Golden Apple Award" by the International Ophthalmology Council in 2007.

In the past 20 years, Professor Li Xiaoxin has organized many lectures, conferences, seminars and training courses on fundus diseases and retinopathy. In Peking University People's Eye Center, she has held regular classes for ocular fundus diseases for 12 years (including three-month short-term training and one-year study class). She used her vacation to go to many remote provinces in China to teach local doctors the diagnosis and treatment techniques of fundus diseases. Editor-in-chief or participated in many academic monographs such as Vitreoretinal Surgery. She and her colleagues established an ophthalmology teaching system based on computer teaching, which promoted the teaching reform of medical students. She is a visionary, pragmatic and dedicated teacher. He has made outstanding contributions to ophthalmology education and is a model of vitreoretinal surgery in China. Therefore, the International Ophthalmology Council decided to award Professor Li Xiaoxin the "Golden Apple Award" as the best ophthalmologist in 2007.

She has been tracking the forefront of the development of ophthalmology in the world, and has taken the lead in developing new technologies such as surgical treatment of senile macular diseases and local radiotherapy of eye tumors in China to relieve the pain of patients. He successfully operated on Comrade Cao, who was injured in the U.S. plane bombing in Yugoslavia, so that his eyesight was improved and he was rewarded.

Professor Li Xiaoxin has presided over many projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation, the State Education Commission Fund and the Ministry of Health Fund for many years. Her scientific research project won the second prize of scientific and technological progress of the State Education Commission and the first prize of medical scientific and technological progress of Guangdong Province, and the research on diabetic retinopathy and retinal detachment won the third prize and the second prize of scientific and technological progress of Beijing respectively. As the first author or instructor, he has published more than 100 papers in domestic and foreign magazines.

Under the leadership of Professor Li Xiaoxin, the ophthalmology department of People's Hospital has developed rapidly. Advanced technologies such as eyeball-preserving therapy for intraocular malignant tumors, prevention and treatment of retinopathy of prematurity, photodynamic therapy for age-related macular degeneration, macular hemorrhage in high myopia and macular surgery have been developed.

Ophthalmology in People's Hospital has many professional groups, such as laser for fundus diseases, oblique amblyopia in children, excimer laser myopia treatment, cataract, glaucoma, keratopathy, fundus diseases, diabetic fundus diseases and so on.
