Sichuan Conservatory of Music was formerly known as "Sichuan Drama Music Experimental School", which was founded in 1939. Renamed as 1959, it became one of the six professional conservatories with undergraduate education in China at that time. The school has three campuses in Wuhou, Xindu and Kong Lin Economic Zone, with a total area of 1500 mu, 24 teaching departments and 10 scientific research institutions.
The school-running level covers postgraduate education, undergraduate education, adult education and secondary art education, with more than 4000 students/kloc-0. It is one of the eleven independent professional conservatories in China.
The school takes music and dance as the main body, and art theory, drama, film and television, art and design develop in an all-round and coordinated way. At present, it has three master's degree authorization points in music and dance, fine arts and art theory, and two professional master's degree authorization points in literature and education, and was approved as a postdoctoral innovation practice base in Sichuan Province on 20 13.
The school has six national first-class undergraduate majors: music performance, composition and composition technology theory, recording arts, musicology, dance, drama and film and television art design, six provincial first-class undergraduate majors: painting, product design, art history, environmental design, sculpture and digital media art, and three provincial application-oriented demonstration majors: recording arts, environmental design and product design.
