So how do we improvise? Think about the process of learning to sing. When others teach one sentence, we learn one sentence, then teach the next sentence, and then learn the next sentence. If the rhythm or a sound is wrong, we will practice this sentence or some sounds over and over again. Finally, we learned a song. We learn more songs, and when inspiration comes, we can express the melody in our hearts freely, accurately and smoothly by voice or whistle. Don't believe that you can think of a melody in your mind, sing it immediately with your voice, or whistle it out, you should be able to do it, but if you suddenly think of a melody, can you express it accurately and smoothly with your guitar immediately? Everyone saw the confrontation between Aoyi and the children at the crossroads. Imagine that if we whistle at him, although the timbre and range are too different, if we don't consider these, I believe that most people can do well just from the melody. Because when we have a melody in our mind, we can whistle accurately and smoothly.
So how does the guitar express the melody in our mind as we please? In the previous paragraph, someone wrote in the post that vai once said when he was studying piano for 2 years: "When you hear a melody, you can accurately imagine the positions of those notes on the fingerboard." How is this done? Imagine learning to sing. I think solo is a more appropriate practice method. Think about the process of choosing a solo: we hear a melody and then try to play it on the fingerboard. This process may be slow at first, but with the improvement of proficiency, we may be able to pick out a solo soon and then get faster and faster. When the guitar can accurately express our inner feelings, that is, the so-called integration of human and piano, the guitar really becomes a part of our body that can make sounds.
But how to make improvisation sound better? As we all know, everyone in China can speak Chinese, but if impromptu speeches are wonderful, they will suddenly become less and less. So how to cultivate the ability to speak or speak in front of people? There are many books introducing these contents, and I think the most important thing is to practice more. If someone practices the piano together, they might as well have fun together, one playing improvisation, one solo and then changing. Another thing is the role of music theory. Suppose someone improvises a poem (word), which may be a four-line poem, a river city, a tune song and so on. Can you say that the rhythm and the name of the epigraph limit the poet's play? If you want to be excellent in improvisation, you'd better learn music theory and develop some good habits. Of course, if you want to be a pure stream-of-consciousness guitarist, you can do it. After all, there are such people (Nuno seems to be). In addition, I feel that music theory is more helpful to creation, and improvisation should be more natural.
These are just some of my personal views, hoping to help everyone. I believe everyone has their own views and opinions. I hope everyone can speak freely and communicate with each other, so that progress can be faster. I study guitar ~ I just found a alto this year. I think if you like guitar, you can try it. I also like guitar since I was a child, and my relatives and friends around me think I play well. When I was a freshman, I decided to take the road of music, so I found an alto teacher to learn guitar from him. I can't find the feeling when I first came into contact with the guitar, but I can find the feeling after a few lessons, and I am getting more and more confident! Folk songs, electric guitars and jazz are not exactly the same, but they also have similarities. As long as you love music, you can learn anything ~ As long as you like guitar and want to learn it well, you will succeed. The baritone art school is very good and authoritative. Have a look when you are free!
