Who knows who plays saxophone in Na Pianhai, Han Hong?
Huang Shengqi is a famous saxophonist in China, former chief saxophone of China Coal Mine Art Troupe, national first-class performer, national first-class conductor, captain of Old Bark Band, artistic director of Golden Saxophone Quartet, musical director of Beijing Golden Saxophone Quartet, artistic consultant of China National Gymnastics Team and visiting professor of Peking Union Medical College. The old bark jazz band he led brought jazz with strong European and American flavor to the domestic audience, which made people linger.

Fan Shengqi has long hair after middle age. His flowing shawl, white hair and shiny beard really add some charm to the artist, especially with the cooperation of the western musical instrument saxophone. So it's called old man Fan.

Fan Laotou's ancestral home is Huangxian County, Shandong Province. He went to Harbin with his family in his childhood and was interested in music since he was a child. He became attached to saxophone when his eldest brother went to the front with He Long troops, and saxophone was left to Fan Shengqi. The young old man Fan, with this heavy musical instrument, studied with a Belarusian musician who fled to Harbin after the October Revolution. In the early days of the founding of New China, the famous old man Fan was taken away by the recruiting railway art troupe in the north.

Fanshengqi impression

You've been under the olive tree/waiting and waiting/I'm in the distance/wandering/you won't come again/I'll keep waiting …

This is the song "Waiting" written by the King of Western Songs to Sanmao. On June 30th, China's first generation saxophonist Fan Shengqi performed the song "Waiting" in a unique way at the concert "In that faraway place-60th anniversary of Wang's artistic career". After the performance, Wang Robin took Fan Shengqi's hand and said, "You have expressed everything I want to express."

On the second day of the performance, I came to Fan Shengqi's home. On one wall of his bedroom and living room, there is a set of shiny saxophone instruments of different shapes and sizes. Indeed, as a national first-class conductor and soloist of double reed and saxophone, Fan Shengqi's name is more associated with "saxophone".

Fan Shengqi has long gray curly hair and bright eyes, revealing the artist's free and easy and resolute. He has a childlike innocence and talks healthily. Just listening to his voice will make you feel that he is still a young man.

Fan Shengqi 1934 was born in the younger brother of a scholarly family in Shandong. His ancestors were Fan Zhongyan, who was "worried about the world first, and happy after the world". At the age of nine, he studied under the saxophone player from Belarus in Harbin, and was admitted to the "Railway Art Troupe" at the age of 16. From then on, I began a long and hard music career. He was labeled as a rightist because of his outspoken views, and he silently studied the art of conducting. Twenty years later, he became the music conductor of the Railway Art Troupe, and Li Guyi, Su Xiaoming, Zhang Baomo and Wei Wei all sang under his command.

Music has no national boundaries. 1990, Fan Shengqi went to the United States, communicated with famous jazz musicians in Boston, and played the jazz "A Xi Yue Yue" adapted from China's music on saxophone, which made Americans look amazing at this China scholar. After returning home, Fan Shengqi devoted himself to jazz performance, which made Dr. Shelley, a jazz doctor at the University of California, curious about how such an outstanding jazz player appeared in China.

Fan Shengqi said: "I regard music as my belief and express my inner language with music." Once, when he was playing "A Girl's Prayer", he injected religious color into the music, giving people a feeling of being sacred and forgetting me, which made five girls at the scene cry.

Fan Shengqi has a very strong national pride. He has been playing western classical music, and then he thought, I am an oriental, but I still want to play oriental music. He said: "I will take the road of China, take the folk music handed down from China for thousands of years as a kind of material, and use world-class and modern chord language and counterpoint technology to transform China's modes and push them to a world-class position.

Butterfly lovers, played by Fan Shengqi on saxophone, is sometimes sonorous, sometimes melodious, sometimes joyful, and sometimes sad. Especially in become a butterfly, he interprets it with modern people's consciousness, which makes romanticism more intense, and a lot of improvisation makes the melody fluctuate. In the peaks and valleys of music, the audience is fascinated, and the wonderful music touches everyone's heartstrings and has endless aftertaste.

For decades, Fan Shengqi's pursuit of music has never stopped, and music has been integrated into his life. He said: "What I have been pursuing all my life is to develop my deeper understanding of music."

His performance of Love in the Sea is clear and tortuous, giving people a feeling that the sea is very soft. The American music "Home" he played infused the feelings of China people, which was quiet and warm. His "Ghost" is full of ups and downs and wonderful. Fan Shengqi's performance art has reached the state of perfection and free will, and he can improvise and freely express his rich inner feelings with saxophone. But he still said, "I'm still working hard and I don't have a satisfactory job."

In front of this artist in his early sixties, I think saxophone is both old and young, and the artist also has a young heart. (Text/Shan Qi1995 July Beijing)

Speaking of saxophonist Mr. Fan Shengqi, everyone in the entertainment circle knows it. Teacher Fan traveled all over the country with saxophone in his hand, and the beautiful tunes were intoxicating.

Mr. Fan, who is nearly seventy years old, is full of energy, healthy, hale and hearty, with a straight back and a Hong Zhong voice. His energy is absolutely like a young man in his twenties, which is entirely due to his enthusiasm for physical exercise.

Mr. Fan was born in Shandong and went to Harbin with his parents. He learned to play saxophone and skate in the ice and snow. On the stage, his saxophone music made people applaud; On the ice rink, his excellent skating skills are also commendable. When he was studying at the Central Conservatory of Music, he was a top student in sports. The high jump can jump over his height: 1.75 meters. Because of his strong jumping ability, he guarded the gate in the school football team and gained some fame. Now I am old, but my love for sports is getting stronger and stronger. He was hired as the artistic consultant of China Gymnastics Team. He taught the gymnastics team and talked about the relationship between music and gymnastics. His vivid speech and lively movements benefited the coach and the players greatly, and the applause continued. He mingles with the gymnastics team from top to bottom and gets together with the small players every Spring Festival. He said: "This will make me younger for decades. If I practice gymnastics, I will definitely win the championship. " He touched Kui Yuanyuan's head and said, "Then you are not a world champion." Qian Kui, the team leader, took over and said, "That's the women's competition of Kui Yuanyuan. How did you run for the women's team? " Everyone laughed ... Teacher Fan was generous and cheerful, and everyone got together. Drinking wine, Huang Yubin, known as Dionysus, gave a thumbs-up sign. Mr. Fan and Mr. Huang enjoyed their drinks at the triumph banquet of Sydney Olympic champion.

In sports, Teacher Fan loves football very much. Every time I watch the broadcast of a football match, I always talk on the phone, talk about feelings, talk about skills and tactics. I feel moved when I say it. He is eager for China football to rush out of Asia. This conversation will last for an hour. When catching up with the Asian Cup this year, Mr. Fan's home phone bill was seriously overspent. Mrs. Fan said with a smile, "It's all football."

Teacher Fan not only likes watching football, but also plays in person. Last autumn, he went to Gansu with the Chinese star team to participate in a charity performance to help the poor. He really played football. That day, in the second half of the game, he put down his saxophone, put on his sweatshirt, ran to the court and took the position of central defender. After a while, he gradually entered the role, and the ball at the foot of the opponent's striker was cleanly broken in the backcourt. His vision was wide, and he passed the ball to Xie Dong in the frontcourt. After the singer Xie Dong received the ball, he slipped past the blocked defender and made a quick bottom pass. Jinggangshan rushed forward to catch the ball and shot angrily, but it was a pity that it hit. This wonderful cooperation won applause from the audience, and everyone shouted: "Hello, old man Fan!" Unfortunately, after 20 minutes, people were afraid that the old man would get hurt, so the executive coaches of the Star Team, Li Jindou and Shen Junyi, replaced him, making him look unhappy.

At the Sydney Olympic Games last year, Mr. Fan was catching up with a speech performance in the United States. The excellent performance of China athletes excited Mr. Fan. The table tennis team won four gold medals. When the audience in China sang march of the volunteers, he was in tears in front of the TV. He said: "This is the soul of China, the backbone of China!" During the lecture, American friends all high-fived him, and national pride permeated Mr. Fan's bright smiling face.

Mr. Fan raised his hands to support Beijing's Olympic bid. He said: "The world should have given Beijing a chance a long time ago. Look at our development, the changes in Beijing, and the great contribution made by China athletes to the development of world sports. 2 1 century will belong to the Chinese nation. Beijing is widely expected to host the Olympic Games. Now, the enthusiasm of the whole country to bid for the Olympic Games is increasing day by day. However, through comparison and communication, we should realize our own shortcomings, correct them as soon as possible, and make the Olympic bid perfect, so that we can have more advantages and be more sure. Please let me know when you need my help for Beijing's Olympic bid, and I will cheer for the Olympic bid with my beloved saxophone! "
