How to achieve carbon dioxide emission peak and carbon neutrality?
To achieve carbon neutrality, the economy and society need to fully turn to green and low carbon.

Experts pointed out that carbon neutralization must do a good job of "addition and subtraction"-on the one hand, reduce greenhouse gas emissions such as carbon dioxide, on the other hand, increase carbon sinks, develop carbon capture and storage technologies, and achieve a balance between emissions and absorption.

Chao, deputy director of the National Climate Center, said that mitigation measures will take a long time to produce results, but many impacts of climate change have already occurred, and it is very important to adapt to climate change. For example, she said that some changes have taken place in conditions such as light and hot water, which put forward requirements for planting adjustment and variety selection in agricultural production, which means more cost input is needed.

Some experts also suggested that in the next 10 year, China should vigorously develop wind power and solar energy, with an average annual increase of 1 100 million kilowatts, and will increase by more than 1 100 million kilowatts in the next 10 year. From the industry point of view, during the "14 th Five-Year Plan" period, high energy-consuming industries such as steel, cement, petrochemical, chemical and building materials should take the lead in achieving the peak of carbon dioxide emissions. It is necessary to further develop and improve the carbon emission trading market, use market mechanisms to promote carbon dioxide emission reduction and technological innovation of enterprises, and guide social investment to tilt towards low-carbon life industries.

In addition, it is necessary to implement "nature-based solutions" in agriculture, forestry, land use, grasslands and wetlands, strengthen the protection, governance and restoration of the ecological environment, strengthen the service function of the ecosystem, and increase carbon sinks.
