Papers by Bai Juyi and Li Bai
Among the three great poets in the Tang Dynasty, Bai Juyi's poems are obviously not the best. He doesn't have Li Bai's romantic whimsy, Du Fu's agility and profundity, and he can't write the ethereal spirit of Buddha Wang Wei. But it is undeniable that he lives a happy and free life. Bai Juyi's poems are full of Zen, and there are no uncommon words, but ordinary words are used to enrich the poor and the rich.

Compared with Li Bai and Du Fu, Bai Juyi's official career was relegated, but his life in his later years was generally very pleasant. In the Tang Xuanzong's "Hanging Bai Juyi", there is a saying that "teenagers can sing songs of everlasting regret and Hu can sing pipa", which shows the popularity in the Tang Dynasty. In a word, Bailot is a person who is liked by ordinary people, appreciated by the emperor and lives happily. What is the philosophy of life of such a great poet in the Tang Dynasty? What I want to share with you in this issue is a Zen poem "Want to Drink" by Bai Juyi.

Bai Juyi's poems are full of Zen. No uncommon words, just 28 words. What happened in the corner of Dwelling House by Bai Juyi in Tang Dynasty? In the firelight of the stone. With wealth and happiness, it is foolish not to laugh. The sentence of this poem begins with a rhetorical question: "Life in the world is like walking in the corner of a snail." The space is very narrow, and we are already walking on thin ice. The metaphor is about space, and the phrase "I am here in Shi Huo" is about time. Life is short, just like a flame when stones collide, but it is fleeting in the vastness of time.

These two metaphors are novel and unique, reducing time and space to infinity, which is refreshing. At the same time, this dual-purpose "In the Snail's Corner" is very neat compared with "Under the Fire of a Stone"; Moreover, the "send" in "Send this body" is also very Zen, saying that life is like passing clouds. The words of this poem express the poet's freedom and ease in treating the poor and the rich, and it is a famous sentence that has been passed down through the ages. The poet's use of the word "you" is not a negative lack of progress, but that no matter whether rich or poor, they should be "harmonious and happy". In the pursuit of wealth and wealth, don't forget your original wish, otherwise even if you get what you want, you won't be really happy. A word "harmony" is calm and more gratifying.
