Therefore, this paper will give reasonable suggestions on how to improve English teaching on the basis of paying attention to the problems existing in junior high school English teaching.

With the continuous advancement of the new curriculum reform, junior high school English teaching pays more attention to the combination of knowledge and practice. On the basis of gradually improving students' theoretical and practical abilities, junior high school English teaching should further improve students' independent thinking mode, perfect the examination-oriented education system, strengthen students' practical operation ability, and improve students' knowledge application skills simultaneously. However, in the process of gradual improvement of English teaching, there are also various problems. This paper will mainly analyze the problems existing in English teaching and put forward countermeasures against these problems.

1, Problems in Junior High School English Teaching

1. 1 The main role of students cannot be fully reflected;

In the current English teaching process, students' subjective initiative can not be fully exerted. In English teaching, if we do not pay attention to students' needs, it will seriously affect students' interest in learning and greatly reduce the interaction between teachers and students. Interest is the best teacher in junior high school English classroom teaching. Junior high school students are not fully mature physically and psychologically, and they tend to be interested in their own subjects during the learning process. If English teaching can't stimulate junior high school students' interest in learning, then they will lack the motivation to move forward in this subject, which will lead to worse and worse academic performance and a vicious circle. Therefore, teachers should learn to test, feedback and adjust the English teaching process in class, and prescribe the right medicine for students' problems. Because students are the main body of learning, only when students actively think and cooperate can classroom teaching be successful.

Although this teaching method seems to promote the classroom atmosphere on the surface, it actually ignores the fundamental purpose of students' class. The teaching method that the classroom form is greater than the teaching content is undoubtedly a disaster for students.

2. Effective strategies for junior high school English teaching.

2. 1 Teachers should do a good job in preparing lessons to improve the quality of English classroom teaching;

When preparing lessons, teachers should process and refine the teaching materials according to students' interests, and then combine them in a reasonable way to stimulate students' interest in learning. Teachers should not only stay on the surface of textbooks, but also dig deep into the folk customs behind English texts. The most important thing is that teachers must arouse students' thinking, pay attention to the cultivation of students' understanding ability, and be more convincing if they meet something that students are interested in. Of course, in addition to dividing the teaching content into categories and difficulties, we should also consider students' ability to accept knowledge, so that students of different grades can understand and accept new knowledge points in a gradient. For example, teachers can let students preview, arrange relevant English dialogue exercises and English dialogue short plays according to the classroom content, so that students can integrate into the classroom, and then teachers can tell the expressions, customs and habits behind them according to the students' performances to attract students' attention.

2.2 Enrich English classroom teaching forms and create an English teaching atmosphere:

To some extent, most of students' interest in learning comes from teachers' subjective efforts and cultivation. At present, due to the pressure of test scores and the pressure of junior high school entrance brought by family, the learning pressure of junior high school students after class is increasing exponentially. It is one of the important issues to be considered in English teaching to let students grasp the key points in class and reduce the learning burden after class. This has strict requirements for teachers' classroom teaching level. Teachers should use effective time to explain the knowledge points, and the key and difficult points of the corresponding knowledge points must be explained thoroughly, comprehensively and pertinently. For example, teachers can organize students to summarize the main contents themselves after they finish the knowledge points, form a healthy competition mechanism, and encourage students to strengthen key knowledge.
