After you get the patent application number, you can submit it (it can be done in a week), that is, as long as you have applied for a patent before submitting it, there is no problem. Patents and articles do not conflict. You can ask the teacher who applied for a patent for details.

You can have a name when you issue a patent. If this piece of work is mainly done by you, your ranking will be higher. Many universities regard patents as core journals or articles of SCI or EI. You can check graduate department in your school to see what our policy is.
