Southwest University is a key comprehensive university directly under the Ministry of Education. With the approval of the Ministry of Education in July 2005, it was formed by the merger of former Southwest Normal University and former Southwest Agricultural University. It is a national "2 1 1" project construction school. The school is located at the foot of Jinyun Mountain and the Jialing River, a national scenic spot in Beibei District, Chongqing. It covers an area of more than 9,000 mu and has a history of running schools for a hundred years. The campus is covered with trees and lush grass. It is a famous garden-style university in China and a civilized campus commended by the Ministry of Education. The school has 95 undergraduate majors, 159 master's degree authorization points and 66 doctoral programs, with a strong faculty, and the scale and quality of running schools rank among the top universities in the west.
Brief introduction of college
School of Journalism and Media of Southwest University was established in April 2006. It was formed by the merger of the former journalism department of the College of Literature of Southwest Normal University, the major of broadcasting and hosting art, the major of radio and television editing and directing of the College of Computer and Information Science, and the former information center of Southwest Agricultural University. The college now has three departments: journalism department, radio and television department and communication department. There are three undergraduate majors: journalism, radio and television director and broadcasting and hosting. There are doctors in curriculum and teaching theory, masters in communication (news communication, new media communication, image communication, editing and publishing) and masters in modern and contemporary narrative literature, film art theory and modern teaching media technology in China.
