The Department of Network and Information Engineering undertakes the teaching tasks of analog electronic technology foundation, digital circuit and digital logic, assembly language programming, computer composition principle, microcomputer interface technology, single chip microcomputer principle and embedded system, computer control and identification system, computer system structure, computer network, LAN technology and networking engineering, Internet technology and application, web page design and website development, CBuilder programming and other courses, and also undertakes the teaching tasks of microcomputer principle courses for all majors in the Department of Engineering.

The main research directions of the Department of Software Engineering are software engineering, mobile e-commerce, educational technology, etc. It mainly undertakes the teaching tasks of professional basic courses, course teaching, course design and graduation design of software engineering specialty. The main courses offered are: algorithm analysis, object-oriented system analysis and design, compilation principle, JAVA language programming, J2EE technology, middleware technology, Web programming, distributed object technology, software automated testing technology, software project organization and management, software engineering, etc.

There are more than 20 teachers in the Department of Software Engineering, including professor 1 person, doctoral supervisor 1 person and 3 associate professors. Many teachers have rich experience in software development. The Department of Communication Engineering, formerly known as the Department of Communication Engineering, School of Electronic Information, Jiangxi Vocational and Technical College of Industry, is the cradle for training advanced specialized technical personnel in information collection, transmission and processing. In June 2003, after the college was merged into Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, the Department of Communication Engineering of the School of Electronics of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics was established.
