Are there any planets in proxima centauri?
Proxima centauri is the nearest star to our galaxy, only 4.2 light years away. What astronomers know is that it has a planet with livable potential, named Billion Star B.

However, in a new study, researchers from the Italian National Institute of Astrophysics pointed out in the report that some changes in the movement of the star they observed can reflect that it may have another planet. In their paper published in the journal Science Progress, they called this planet a billion stars C.

This potential new planet seems to be a super earth. Super Earth refers to a planet with a mass greater than that of the Earth, but much smaller than the huge icy Neptune.

The research team found it through a method called radial velocity. The principle of this method is roughly as follows: when the planet orbits, it will produce very little tension on its corresponding star. When a star moves, the color of its light will change even if it is only a small distance. If the color changes periodically, it can indicate that there are planets rotating around it.
