Analysis on the Application of Logistics Information Technology

First, the composition of logistics information technology

As an important part of modern information technology, logistics information technology essentially belongs to the category of information technology. For example, automatic sorting and transmission equipment, automatic guided vehicle (AGV), automatic container handling equipment, warehouse management system (WMS), transportation management system (TMS), distribution optimization system, global positioning system (GPS), geographic information system (GIS) and so on.

4. Logistics information security technology. That is to say, the technologies to ensure the security of logistics information mainly include cryptography, firewall, virus prevention, identity authentication, access control, backup recovery, database security and so on.

Second, the application of information technology in modern logistics

In the core activities of modern logistics at all levels, efficient logistics activities depend on the all-round support of information technology. From the automation of logistics equipment to the optimization of logistics process and even the visualization of the whole supply chain resources, information technology has become a key element throughout all logistics activities.

1, electronic data interchange. Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is an electronic means to transfer working documents such as orders, invoices and logistics information between companies. It uses a recognized standard format to exchange and process data between relevant departments or enterprises through computer networks, including data standardization (messages), computer applications (software and hardware) and communication networks. In the past, due to the high cost of communication through VAN and the difficulty of formulating and meeting EDI standards, the cost of EDI was high, and only large enterprises could benefit from the use of EDI because of economies of scale. In recent years, the rapid popularization of Internet provides a fast, simple and cheap communication mode for logistics information activities, brings vitality to the development of EDI, greatly improves the practicability of computer management system, improves circulation efficiency and reduces logistics costs.

2. Bar code technology. Bar code is the most widely used automatic identification technology at present, which is composed of a group of marks composed of regularly arranged bars, spaces and corresponding characters to represent some information. Bar code technology has the advantages of simple production, fast information collection, high accuracy, large amount of information, low cost and convenient use of bar code equipment. In the process of circulation transfer from production to sales, barcode technology plays an important role in accurately identifying commodity information and quickly tracking commodity history, which is the basis of the whole logistics information management. Bar code technology plays an important role in data collection, rapid response and transportation application of logistics, which greatly promotes the development of logistics. At present, several commonly used bar codes are EAN bar code, UPC bar code, 39 bar code, staggered 25 bar code and EAN 128 bar code.

3. Radio frequency technology (RFID). Radio frequency technology uses radio waves to read and write recording media. The distance of radio frequency identification can reach tens of centimeters to several meters, and thousands of bytes of information can be input according to reading and writing methods. At the same time, it also has high confidentiality. The function of RFID technology in logistics mainly includes two-channel communication selection indication of warehouse, verification of warehouse circulation point, label printing (such as line label), reading postal code on package and so on. It is suitable for occasions that need non-contact data collection and exchange, such as material tracking, vehicle and shelf identification, etc. Because RFID tags can be read and written, it is especially suitable for occasions where data content needs to be changed frequently. In recent years, the application of portable data terminal (PDT) is to transmit the data in PDT memory to the host computer at any time by using radio frequency technology. It can easily obtain the customer's product list, invoice, shipping label, product code and the quantity stored there.

4. Geographic information system. Geographic Information System (GIS) uses computers as tools to process spatial data with geographical characteristics, and integrates other spatial location information related to a certain spatial information into a comprehensive geographic information database, and provides relevant information to planners and decision makers in the form of words, numbers, charts, sounds, graphics or maps through application software. The application of GIS in logistics analysis mainly refers to improving logistics analysis technology by using the powerful geographic data function of GIS. Foreign companies have developed a tool software, which uses GIS to provide specialized analysis for logistics analysis. The complete GIS logistics analysis software integrates vehicle path model, shortest path model, network logistics model, distribution set model and facility positioning model.

5. Global Positioning System. Global Positioning System (GPS) is a system that uses communication satellites, ground control parts and signal receivers to dynamically locate objects. GPS can obtain the dynamic spatial information of static and dynamic objects, and feed back the spatial information quickly and accurately, regardless of weather and time. Using GPS technology in the field of logistics, users can always? Do you see it?
