2 1 century is an era of rapid development of human society. After the third scientific and technological revolution, mechanized mass production has basically replaced the heavy physical labor of human beings. In most parts of the world, it is no longer difficult to get enough food and clothing. However, various social problems emerge one after another, and people's happiness is generally reduced. Especially in China, over the past 30 years of reform and opening up, China's gross national product has gone up one step after another, but the people's happiness has not been rapidly improved because of the huge material wealth. There are many deep-seated reasons for this, and we only discuss it from a philosophical point of view.

First, the meaning of happiness

With the continuous socialization of psychology, people began to pay attention to spiritual quality, and the times came, paying more and more attention to harmony and happiness. So how do you understand happiness? How to get happiness? Postmodern humanists express their opinions. They believe that happiness is a feeling, it is not an object, it is not a culture, it can be visualized and audible. Happiness is also an energy flowing in any life. When you calm down, you can feel it. In that complicated era, it was not that happiness was gone, but that people abandoned it. Lin Shikun, a post-modern spiritual teacher in China, once compared happiness: "Happiness is always there, just like a road, happiness is not the end, and happiness is always on both sides of the road"! The key to happiness is that people need to live in the present and enjoy it.

However, we believe that happiness is a lasting satisfaction from the heart. This kind of satisfaction can not be separated from the support of material, but its persistence can not be maintained by material alone. Therefore, happiness is a state of satisfaction based on material and spiritual pursuit. It is different from ordinary satisfaction and pays more attention to persistence. For example, a hungry person will feel satisfied after a full meal, but when he is hungry again, this satisfaction will soon disappear. And happiness will not disappear easily because of temporary changes in conditions. As mentioned above, we can draw the conclusion that happiness and happiness are two different concepts. Pleasure comes from instant stimuli (including mental and physical stimuli) and is maintained by the existence of such stimuli (for example, drug addicts' dependence on drugs is twofold). Finally, let's look at the difference between happiness and happiness. In a sense, happiness and happiness are interlinked. Generally speaking, a happy person will feel very happy, and a person who is always happy will feel happy, but happiness does not mean happiness. Happiness lies in cheerful mood, and happiness lies in spiritual satisfaction. Simply put, happiness can be achieved by one thing, one person and one thing, and happiness is much more complicated.

Second, the dialectical relationship between happiness and pain

Happiness and pain are two contradictory aspects. It is generally believed that pain will not bring happiness, the two are opposite, and pain will only bring misfortune. But dialectical materialism tells us that everything in the world is interrelated, constantly developing and changing, and the contradictory sides are interdependent and mutually transforming. In other words, pain can be transformed into happiness, and happiness can also be transformed into endless pain. In a person's life, it is impossible to have only pain without happiness, and it is impossible to have only happiness without pain. Pain and happiness can be transformed into each other. We all have the experience of thinking of setbacks and pains when we feel happy, so happiness is more precious. When we are in pain, we look forward to success and joy, fantasize about happiness, and thus relieve the inner pressure. This is not only a psychological adjustment mechanism, but also one of the manifestations of interdependence and mutual transformation between happiness and pain. There is no happiness without pain, and there is no pain without happiness. This kind of example can be seen everywhere in life. For example, the sudden change of a harmonious family (from happiness to pain) and the reunion of separated relatives (from pain to happiness) are typical examples of the mutual transformation between happiness and pain.

Then, why do most people feel more pain than happiness when their material life is relatively rich? The key is that people have lost their senses in material matters. There is no way to achieve a stable state of mind and continue to feel satisfied, so happiness is missing. In other words, the mentality makes people turn happiness into pain, and it is difficult to turn pain into happiness. For example, originally happy couples often feel pain because of quarreling, but they don't think quarreling is another way of happiness. Often they will only find the happy meaning of quarreling when they lose it, but at the same time they will also pay attention to the loss and continue to feel the pain. Our mentality is constantly unsatisfied, so pain will follow.

Third, some suggestions about happiness.

First, happiness is inseparable from material support. Marxism believes that material determines consciousness, and it is difficult to achieve a happy state without material support. People must meet their physiological needs in order to carry out conscious activities. Without material support, it is difficult to achieve a peaceful mind, just as it is difficult for a hungry person to feel satisfied, happiness must be based on a certain material basis. But for everyone, the standard of material foundation is also different. To reach this standard, we must rely on personal efforts.

Second, happiness lies in lasting psychological balance. Happiness is inseparable from material things, but the excessive pursuit of material things is the root of misfortune. Just as no amount of money can buy a good sleep, the achievement of happiness needs deeper conditions. It is the balance of mentality, as the old saying goes: don't be happy for things, don't be sad for yourself. A happy person must have a balanced mentality. In today's society, everyone loves to compare with others. If it is better, they will feel happy; If it is worse, they will feel pain. This comparative "happiness" can only be said to be a kind of happiness or satisfaction, which lacks persistence and is highly dependent on the outside world. Happiness can't depend on others, it is your inner satisfaction. Even if some people think that they feel happy when they see others happy, this kind of happiness is highly dependent on the outside world. On the other hand, others suffer, and they suffer. Only a lasting psychological balance can achieve a long-term sense of happiness.

Third, happiness depends on contentment. If the material foundation is the premise and psychological balance is the condition, then contentment is the key. If you are not satisfied, you will never be happy. As we said before, happiness needs to be satisfied. Using an image metaphor, happiness is a cup filled with water, material condition is the material of the cup, psychological balance is the workmanship of the cup, and satisfaction is the capacity of the cup. If the material of the cup is wrong, the water can't be preserved (for example, the cup is made of sand), if the workmanship of the cup is not good (for example, there is a small hole in the bottom of the cup), the water will keep leaking, and if the capacity of the cup is infinite, the water will never be filled in. Therefore, it is difficult for an unsatisfied heart to achieve a happy state. This does not mean that if we want to be happy, we should be content with the status quo and not make progress. On the contrary, if we know that we are satisfied and work hard, we will go further on the road of happiness and will not often feel tired and uneasy. At the same time, it will turn pain into happiness. In short, we should treat pain and frustration correctly in a satisfied state and regard them as a part of happiness, so that we can find happiness around us.
