Is it necessary for young people to understand the hidden rules in the workplace?
?

All along, the purpose of my HR is to help more people find jobs and help more people grow. Every time I recruit the right talent, I will be very happy, not only because I have completed the task, but more importantly, I have helped others find a job.

After so many years of HR, I have met all kinds of job seekers. Some job seekers, like passers-by, will never leave a mark on your life; But some job seekers left a deep impression in my mind.

One winter, due to the continuous development of the company, it was necessary to expand the recruitment scale.

One day, the front desk informed me that someone in the company had chosen. I'm a little puzzled, because all my subordinates are on a business trip, and they didn't tell me that there were job seekers coming for an interview today. As soon as I finished my work, I went to the front desk to have a look.

This is a young-looking young man, dressed simply, but full of spirit.

As soon as he saw me, he greeted me and shook hands with me, which gave a good initial impression. I asked him if he had his resume, so he took one out of his bag and handed it to me. I asked him what position he applied for, and he said any position would be fine. I was a little surprised to hear that, so I asked him to confirm a position first. After some hesitation, he finally said that he would apply for an ordinary staff position.

I read his resume carefully and found that he was 35 years old. I have no age discrimination at all. After all, everyone will get old. I am surprised that a 35-year-old man doesn't know which position he wants to develop into, and even doesn't apply for the position of an ordinary clerk.

I asked him to sit down and asked him why he came uninvited. He said that he submitted a lot of resumes online, but no company called him. Therefore, I have to take the initiative to come here today, hoping to give him an interview. I thought he was sincere, so I decided to communicate with him.

After communication, I found that he had no plans for his future career at all and had done a lot of work, but none of them lasted more than a year. He has worked for years, but he has no core competitiveness. Although he has repeatedly said that he only needs an ordinary staff position, all the staff positions in the company tend to recruit "post-90 s" because the heads of various departments are actually around 30 years old. Imagine how embarrassed it is for someone younger than you to ask you to do specific things all day.

Faced with such job seekers, I try to learn more. He told me that he has a 5-year-old child at home and his wife works in Shenzhen. He has been looking for a job recently and has no income, so when there is no interview, he will pick up passengers to help supplement his family. For the future, he is only confused and at a loss.

After listening to his words, my mood is actually very complicated. I tried my best to help him, but I searched all the positions in the company and found that there was really no suitable position for him. Enterprises are not charities. My duty is to help the company recruit suitable talents. If we keep him just to help him, I'm afraid it will hurt him and the company. Because I hope he can find a job with more development prospects, start from the foundation, and don't go on like this.

I gently told him the result of the interview and gave him some advice on job hunting and career planning. He is very grateful. I hope he can find his future direction as soon as possible and stop living aimlessly like before he was 35.

The above is a real case in my recruitment process. In fact, such stories are constantly being staged every day.

The protagonists of these stories may all have these characteristics:

l? I didn't choose my first job.

l? There is no job that lasts for a long time (more than 3 years).

l? Do not have their own core competitiveness.

l? No goals, no future plans.

l? 35 years old, still interviewing for a job change.

l? Faced with the enormous pressure of family and life, we have to continue to take the old road and change into a luxury.

……

If you have more than three characteristics, you must stop and think about it.

I have been studying career planning and self-exploration since my freshman year, and it has been 10 years now. In this process, I was once confused, so I read a lot of books about career planning and career development and used career planning tools to locate my career. Fortunately, it took me a year to explore, and soon I positioned my career in human resource management. It can be said that I am the beneficiary of career planning. Because of my work, I met many people, and I saw their own shadows. When I saw so many people living in confusion and unable to find the direction of life, I sprouted a dream to help more people find the direction of life and achieve success in their careers.

Whose youth is not confused! Perhaps, everyone will go through a confused stage. However, some people can wake up immediately after a short period of confusion and then achieve professional success. And some people will continue to be confused, just like a ship that has lost its course, and will never find the other side of success.

Why can others get out of confusion, but you can't? After years of research and practice, I found that many people are not clear about some hidden rules of enterprise recruitment, so they are in a state of confusion for a long time. If you don't know these hidden rules of recruitment, you are likely to get lost forever. In order to help you better, I have sorted out these hidden rules, hoping to help you.

(1)35 years old is a hurdle.

35 years old is a hurdle. At this age, most people will face the pressure of marriage, family and work. In the process of career development, the "35-year-old crisis" is a common phenomenon in the development of the workplace, that is, many employers will have such a hidden rule when recruiting employees: as long as they are under 35. This "35-year crisis" has a great impact on job seekers. Many people face the problem of finding a job after they are over 35.

"There are old people and little people in the world. You are too old to find a job and too young to retire. " Nowadays, "35" has become a very embarrassing age for many job seekers. Why not be 30 or 40? Why does the employer only post the recruitment age at 35? In fact, these are all because they are a microcosm of China's long-term "recruitment culture". As early as the early days of reform and opening up, China strongly advocated the trend of younger people. At that time, the age of young cadres at the grassroots level was defined as under 35. Since then, people generally use the age of 35 to measure whether talents are young.

In fact, it's not that companies don't recruit people over the age of 35, but most of them are middle and senior positions. 99% of enterprises will not use people over the age of 35 in grass-roots posts. Once you can't establish your competitiveness in the workplace before the age of 35, climb to the middle and high level, wander around at the grassroots level all the time, or have to find a job because you can't get an irreplaceable position in the enterprise, then you will face the possibility of unemployment.

Therefore, before the age of 35, we must give ourselves a clear positioning and constantly improve our core competitiveness in the workplace, so as to become irreplaceable. Don't give yourself a chance to find a job at the age of 35.

(2) Enterprises like loyal people.

When a human resource opens a resume, the first thing it will look at is the length of time the applicant worked in the last company and how many times he has changed jobs since he worked. If you change jobs several times a year, or none of your jobs exceed 1 year, basically your resume will be classified as "unqualified".

When a person can stay in the enterprise for more than three years or longer, he will have more opportunities for promotion than those who stay in the enterprise for less than three years. Many times, the promotion within the enterprise, the ability is second. For example, you have just been in the company for one year, and another person has been in the company for five years. Faced with the same promotion opportunity, as long as his performance is not bad, even if you are better than him, the leader may promote him. Because the idea of some domestic business leaders is: he has been with me for so many years, and it is time to give him a birthright.

Enterprises like to use loyal people. Because it takes at least five years to fully understand an industry. Your loyalty means your rich industry experience. In addition, loyalty also means stability and the establishment of future career planning. In the recruitment process, there is a rule of "looking at the future from the past", that is, the recruiter usually thinks that people who are stable in the past will be stable in the future.

(3) Education is a stepping stone, and learning ability is a guarantee for the future.

"Education represents the past, ability represents the present and learning represents the future." This sentence is actually a research achievement in the field of foreign education. In the requirements of recruitment positions, every enterprise will write down the requirements for academic qualifications, and academic qualifications have become a stepping stone to enter the enterprise. However, once you enter the enterprise, it will no longer look at your academic qualifications, but only at your performance at work. All this is based on your speaking ability. Therefore, enterprises now pay more and more attention to a person's learning ability, that is, the ability to keep learning in order to maintain competitiveness.

The head of Microsoft human resources once said to the college graduates who came to apply: "Your diploma represents your past education level. Now the salary given by the company is the recognition of your past diploma, but it is only valid for 3 months. If you want to work here for a long time and succeed, you must know that you should learn some new knowledge. If you don't know what new knowledge to learn, your diploma will be invalid here. " The person in charge of human resources wants to tell us that a diploma is only a stepping stone for enterprises to recruit talents, and learning ability is the factor that determines your future. Learning ability determines your competitiveness.

In modern society, knowledge and technology are constantly updated, and the knowledge and skills learned in universities will be out of date in a few years. All the skills we have now may be replaced by new technologies in the near future. In the eyes of enterprises, diplomas are only a sign of knowledge accumulation, and employers pay more attention to development potential and the ability to solve practical problems. If we don't learn new knowledge and skills in time, having a diploma is not only worthless to the enterprise, but also more harmful to us.

Learning ability is the only resource that can be infinitely regenerated. The learning ability of a person or an organization cannot be purchased, copied or imitated by any other person or organization. There is a saying from Shell Oil Company in the United States: "The only lasting competitive advantage may be the ability to learn faster than your competitors."

(4) Eloquence is a sharp weapon for your career development.

Many people have learned a lot during their four-year study in college, but after leaving the society, they find that they can't express this knowledge and communicate with others well. It is conceivable that their career development is definitely impossible.

Here, what I mean by eloquence is not to ask you to be eloquent, but to dare to speak, to convey your views to others well and to listen well.

In the workplace, communication and expression are everywhere. The interview needs your good expression. If you don't say a word in the group, I'm afraid you won't be hired by the company again. Need to be expressed at the meeting. You need to constantly express your views so that others will understand and support you. You need to communicate and express in your daily work. Only when you say it will your colleagues know what you need.

Eloquence is closely related to our career development. "The debate of one person is more important than the treasure of Jiuding; A three-inch tongue is better than a million masters. " Nike said: a person can stand up and speak in public is his first step to success. Eloquence is too important for us. If you are not good at expressing, you should strengthen your exercise in this area. I believe that having a good mouth will make you more calm and confident in the workplace!

(5) A clear career plan is the basis of your job search.

All job hunting requires you to determine the job position first, instead of going to the person in charge of enterprise recruitment and saying, recruit me first, I can do all the positions. If so, you basically have no chance to apply. Even if you are a fresh graduate, the company will give you a specific position. Defining career orientation is the trend of enterprise recruitment at present.

So, if you haven't found your place in life, find it quickly.
