Mr. Wan is a famous agricultural historian in China and one of the main founders of agricultural history in China. Since the1920s, he has been engaged in the collection, arrangement and research of agricultural history materials. Thanks to the efforts of colleagues in the Agricultural Book Research Department of Jinling University (Agricultural History Department of Agricultural Economics Department) and the Agricultural Heritage Research Office of China, after more than 40 years of accumulation, he has established a set of valuable agricultural history materials, which have been well received by experts and scholars at home and abroad. He has made outstanding achievements in the study of agricultural ancient books and agricultural history in China, especially the Agricultural History of China, which he presided over, is the first book in China to systematically study the history of agricultural science and technology, and it can be called a milestone in the study of agricultural history. When Mr. Wan was young, he asked himself, "Those who are promising should be far-sighted, and should stick to good at any time and place, instead of getting shorter every day." Before liberation, Mr. Wan had engaged in land management investigation, research and teaching, during which he had a good chance of promotion, but at that time he wrote his motto: indifferent to your ambition, wait and see, and stay away from it. He devoted himself to academic research, especially after liberation, devoted himself to the study of agricultural history and worked hard, and finally achieved fruitful results, which had a far-reaching impact on the academic circles of agricultural history in China.
