1September, 949, Yan Sun was transferred to Beijing. She refused to arrange for her to work in the central government and insisted on preschool education. Her sincere devotion to preschool education touched Sister Kang Keqing and won her support. With the approval of the organization, she went to the Central Nursery School (later changed to the Nursery School of the Military Commission).

From 65438 to 0978, Yan Sun was transferred to the post of Director of Special Education Department of Preschool Education of General Education Department of Ministry of Education. She rushed to the front line of preschool education to understand the current situation of preschool education in China. The following year, under her proposal and efforts, the Regulations on Urban Kindergarten Work and the Outline of Kindergarten Education were promulgated. In the same year, she went to Shanghai three times to discuss the editing of preschool textbooks. Two years later, seven textbooks were published. Three sets of regulations, syllabuses and teaching materials put the pre-school education in China, which was devastated during the Cultural Revolution, on the development track.

From 65438 to 0985, Yan Sun, at the age of 80, served as the chairman of China Preschool Education Research Association, traveled around the country, established a national network of research associations, and formed a research team composed of researchers, university teachers and preschool teachers.

From 65438 to 0986, her unremitting efforts made the China Preschool Research Association officially accepted by the World Preschool Education Organization. Since then, members of the seminar have frequently appeared in international pre-school education conferences.

1987, the journal of preschool education theory that she worked hard to plan was published.
