This is a famous sentence in Gao Shi's Dongda University. Jun Zhi: Dong Da, a famous pianist in Tang Xuanzong.

Dong (about 695-765): A famous pianist in the Kaiyuan and Tianbao periods of the Tang Dynasty, a native of Longxi.

Dong enjoyed a high reputation in the Tang Dynasty. For example, Gao Shi's Biedongda wrote: "Mochow is ignorant in front of her, and no one in the world knows you." At that time, many poets had contacts with him, and described his piano skills in his poems, the most famous of which was Li Qi's Listening to the Dongda Piano, which gave a detailed and vivid description of his superb piano skills.

Dong was poor all his life. Gao Shi once said in his poem: "My husband should be poor enough, and he can meet today without drinking money." Xue also said: "Not for princes, but for 60 years." Before he was 60 years old, he spent almost all his time in his hometown Longxi Mountain Village. At the end of Tianbao, at the request of the Prime Minister, it was once accepted by the world to be a guest at his door.

Among Dong's students, their hearing is keen and their tunes are "incisive", especially for harmony. Another disciple, Du, was also called "Shen Jia's absolute defeat" by Rong Hong.
