After graduation, he stayed in school to teach, participated in the compilation of the six-volume General History of the United States, a key project of philosophy and social sciences in the Sixth Five-Year Plan, and completed most of the writing work of the sixth volume Post-war American History with the first author 1986. After the book 1989 was published by People's Publishing House, 1990 won the second prize of the 4th China Book Award, 1995 won the second prize of outstanding achievements in humanities and social sciences research by the State Education Commission, and 1999 won the second prize of outstanding achievements in national social science fund projects. After completing the manuscript, Han Tieyu 1986 went to the University of Wisconsin in the United States as a Fulbright scholar for two years, during which he was also funded by the Corporate History Center of Highbury Museum for short-term research. 1988 After returning to China, he served as the deputy director of the American History Research Office of the Institute of World History of Wuhan University, and served as the director of the newly established American Chinese Society until 1990 visited the United States for the second time.
