20 14 in may, a military coup took place in Thailand, and army commander ba Yu served as acting prime minister. 20 14 On August 25th, King bhumibol adulyadej of Thailand signed a royal decree, formally appointing Ba Yu, chairman of the National Peacekeeping Order Committee and commander of the army, as the 29th Prime Minister of Thailand.
The constitution stipulates that the king is the supreme commander of the armed forces. The National Security Council is the highest national defense decision-making body, subordinate to the Cabinet and presided over by the Prime Minister. As the highest military administrative organ, the Ministry of National Defense is responsible for formulating and implementing national defense policies and plans. The National Defense Commission is the highest national defense advisory body, which belongs to the Ministry of National Defense, and the Minister of National Defense is also the chairman. The Supreme Command is the highest command organization of the Army, and consists of three service headquarters, namely, the Army, the Navy and the Air Force, which directly direct and coordinate the actions of the three armed forces.
