The two brothers lived in remote rural areas since childhood, and their family conditions were very bad. However, under such conditions, their father still attaches great importance to their education. He taught them to learn erhu and dulcimer since childhood, and saved more than 6000 yuan to buy Yamaha electronic organ for them at that time.

In 2009 CCTV Spring Festival Evening, a song "The Best in China" written by Lyrics Xu and composed by Xu Ziwei was perfectly interpreted by famous singers Liao Changyong, Qin Si Gerile, Xu Ziwei and Feng Ruili, which pushed Lyrics Xu's creation to a new artistic height.
