Born in Lingshi County, Shanxi Province,/kloc-0 joined the Chinese Red Army of Workers and Peasants in March, 1936,1China in April, 1937. During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, he served as propagandist, division head, battalion youth officer, instructor, organization officer, section chief, instructor, general branch secretary and political commissar of the Eighth Route Army.

During the War of Liberation, he served as the battalion commander of the Independent Brigade of the New Fourth Army, the chief of operations of the Northeast Democratic Coalition Division, the chief of staff of the regiment, the deputy head of the regiment and the head of the People's Liberation Army. During the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, he served as deputy division commander and teacher of Chinese people's Volunteer Army No.1 1 17 Division. In peacetime, he served as a campaign instructor, director of the teaching and research section and deputy commander of the 38 th Army.

At the age of 82, he died in Suzhou on May 3, 2004/KLOC-0.
