Cheng, Cheng, male, Zhuang, from Shanglin County, Guangxi, was born in June 1933+0 1, became a China citizen in February/984, and joined the work in September/957. He graduated from Beijing Railway Institute with a major in railway management, a university education and a senior engineer. 1986 to 1989, vice chairman of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. 1989 to 1990 served as deputy secretary of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Committee and vice chairman of the autonomous region. 1990 to 1998 served as deputy secretary, acting chairman and chairman of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Committee. At the 14th Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC),1March 1998, he was elected as a member of the Central Committee and vice chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC). On July 3, 2000, the Beijing No.1 Intermediate People's Court pronounced that Cheng was sentenced to death for accepting bribes, deprived of his political rights for life, and confiscated all his personal property.
