Hong (1928 ~ 200 1), pen name, Tian Duoye, from Shanghai. Engaged in education and news publishing, 1943 began to publish works. His pen names are Tian Ye, Tian Duoye, Liao De and Lv Yu. A famous writer and theorist of children's literature, he is known as the "father of magic pen and horse" because of his creation of the fairy tale "Magic pen and horse".

Story summary

Once upon a time, there was a poor boy named Ma Liang. He likes painting very much and studies painting very hard, but he has no money and can't afford a pen and paper, so he can only paint on the beach with sticks or stones.

One day, an old man entered Ma Liang's dream. He gave Ma Liang a magic pen, which can make his paintings come true. So Ma Liang paints for other poor people.

Later, in order to satisfy his greed, the emperor asked Ma Liang to draw something valuable for him. Ma Liang was very reluctant, so he drew a boat and let the emperor fall into the sea in the wind. Ma Liang continued to paint for the poor.
