1, location and basic information Jiangang Reservoir is located in the upper reaches of west Jia Luhe in Jiangang Village, Houzhai Township, Erqi District, Zhengzhou City. It belongs to Heying River System in Huaihe River Basin and is a key medium-sized reservoir managed by large reservoirs. The reservoir area is Y-shaped and is a double trunk reservoir, with a controlled drainage area of 1 13 square kilometers, a total storage capacity of 60.7 million cubic meters and a dam crest elevation of 65.7 million cubic meters. Jiangang Reservoir was built at 1959, stopped at 1960, re-survey was planned at 1965, and continued to be built at 1969. 1970 dammed the river to store water, which was reinforced in 2008. The flood control design standard is once in a hundred years, and the check standard is once in five thousand years.
The location of the reservoir is very dangerous. The downstream of the reservoir is close to Zhengzhou High-tech Development Zone, Beijing-Guangzhou Railway, Longhai Railway, National Highway 3 10, Zhengzhou Waterworks, Thermal Power Plant and other important facilities. It is the top priority of urban flood control and the key project of reservoir flood control in the city, which is related to the safety of Zhengzhou people's property. For many years, it has been called "a basin of water over Zhengzhou" by the citizens.
It is one of the 27 key reservoirs for flood control in China.
In 2000, it was listed as a backup water source in Zhengzhou City. Before the South-to-North Water Transfer Project introduced water into Zhengzhou, Jiangang Reservoir provided nearly 50% domestic water for Zhengzhou residents.

The hydrometeorological Jia Luhe originates from Shengshuiyu Village, Baizhai Town, xinmi city, with an upstream main stream of 26.3km, and the Miaohe River in nine niang joins the dam site at the upstream 1 km. The annual average temperature in the basin is 14.3℃, the lowest temperature is-15.3℃, and the highest temperature is 4 1.4℃. The annual average water surface evaporation is 1300mm, and the land evaporation is 550mm. The average annual rainfall in the basin is 650 mm, of which 70% is concentrated in July, August and September, and most of them appear in the form of heavy rain. The annual rainfall varies greatly. According to statistics, the maximum annual rainfall is113mm (1958) and the minimum annual rainfall is 230mm (1969).

4. Water source protection Jiangang Reservoir is divided into primary water source protection sites and secondary water source protection sites. The first-class water source protection area starts from the dam and reaches Houzhai Bridge and Dongquan Bridge in the south, with a total water surface of 4.26 square kilometers, and the rest are second-class protection areas with a total area of 22.7 square kilometers. There are fences around the dam, more than 2000 meters around the dam and 4000 meters around the Helou River.
