Born in Fengyang, Anhui Province, Zhu Gui is the 13th son of Ming Taizu, and his mother is Guo Huifei.

He has a violent personality. In the first year of Wen Jian (1399), it was abolished as Shu Ren [1] for its crimes.

After Ming Chengzu ascended the throne, Zhu Gui's title was restored. But Zhu Gui still didn't improve. Cheng Zu once sent him a letter saying, "I heard that my brother killed people for money, and the people of China are suffering. There are so many accusers that Wang can't remember the time of writing?" He also ordered that from now on, the palace should not be good at serving the military and civilians or collecting money. At that time, Zhu Gui had been accused of misconduct many times. Cheng Zu gave him 32 counts and told Zhu Gui to go to North Korea, but Zhu Gui didn't come. When Grandfather called him for the second time, he asked him to return halfway and withdrew three guards. It was not until the 16th year of Yongle (14 18) that the guards were restored [2].

Zhu Gui's princess is Xu, Xu's second daughter and the queen's sister.
