Brief introduction of Yehou Academy
Yehou Academy, located in Nanyanxia Peak, Yanshou Village, Nanyue Town, is about 2 miles away from Banshan Pavilion along the original Panshan Highway. It is also called "Ming Dow Mountain House" and "End Room", so it was named in memory of Li Bi, the prime minister of the Tang Dynasty.

The existing building was built by Chen Zhi, a local citizen, and Dai Xinkui, president of Jixian Academy, in Guangxu 16th year (1890), and was renovated during the Republic of China and after the founding of New China. Yehou Academy faces south, with a building area of more than 200 square meters. Integral wood structure, five rooms wide and one room deep; The beamless frame and the roof of the palace are covered with yellow glazed tiles. There are white marble banners embedded in the door, and the official script "Yehou Academy" is engraved in Yin. The stone pillar in front of the door is engraved with "30,000 scrolls are gone, and the prime minister is remembered in the room; Nine thousands of feet Yunshan does not change, relying on the column to know the ancient haze. "

Yehou Academy has three addresses in Nanyue District today.

One is Yue Yun Middle School under Jixian Peak. Song (A.D. 1225- 1227) sent Zhang Si to Nanyue Academy, which was built under Jixian Peak and renamed Yehou Academy. It was founded in the third year of Yuan Dynasty (AD 1343). It was destroyed by soldiers in the early Ming Dynasty. In the 13th year of Jiajing (A.D. 1534), Xia Liangsheng, Taichang, was ordered to come to Chaling Mountain to defect to Yue. Negotiated with Zhang Zhi, editor-in-chief of the Hanlin Academy, Peng Zan, magistrate of Hengshan County, etc. to rebuild its former site in order to sacrifice this famous scholar who has stayed in Nanyue from ancient times to modern times, and renamed it Jixian Academy.

Second, under the haze peak. This used to be the former residence of Li Bi, a recluse of Emperor Taizong, with a famous bedroom, namely the library. There is a stone carving of the word "extremely bright" written by Li Bi on the rock. In the Song Dynasty, the living room was abandoned. During the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty (A.D. 1573 ~ 1620), Li Tianzhi, governor of Hengbao, built the Ming Dow Mountain House in the old site and put it on record, which was soon destroyed. In the early Qing Dynasty, the Yi people built a Ming Dow Mountain House next to Fuyan Temple to worship the wild marquis, which was later abandoned. In the ninth year of Qianlong (A.D. 1744), Ling Degui of Hengshan County established Yixue in the former site and renamed it Yehou Academy. It is difficult to open a school because of its remoteness. In the 21st year (A.D. 1756), the school rent was merged into Jixian College under Jixian Peak, and the campus was destroyed.

Three are at the waist of Fog Peak. The existing Yehou Academy. In the 16th year of Guangxu reign in Qing Dynasty (AD 1890), Chen Zhi, a Yi nationality, and Dai Xinkui, president of Jixian Academy, moved to build Yehou Academy here. In the 21st year of the Republic of China (A.D. 1932), Cai Qingxuan, the magistrate of Hengshan County, and Bin, the director of education, allocated 3,000 yuan for reconstruction. Now there are five stone rooms in one room and no books. On the stone pillar under the eaves, there is a couplet written by Bing Fengyang from Hengshan Mountain: "There are no more 30,000 scrolls, and people read the name of the Prime Minister; Nine thousands of feet Yunshan does not change, leaning on the column to know the ancient haze. "
