Bo Huang, formerly known as Bai Fan, was born in Houguan, Fujian (now Minhou County), a modern experimental psychologist, psychology historian, psychology translator and one of the founders of psychology in China. 19 1 1 entered Beijing and Tsinghua University, and 19 14 years went to study in the United States. He studied psychology and philosophy at Cornell University, and studied under E.B. Tieqinna. After graduation, he continued his further study and research in the Department of Psychology, Graduate School of Harvard University, and obtained his doctorate in philosophy at 192O. After returning to China, he served as a professor of psychology in the Department of Philosophy of Peking University, a professor in the Department of Psychology of Tsinghua University, and the editor-in-chief of the Philosophy Education Department of Shanghai Commercial Press. When I was a researcher and director of the Institute of Psychology at Academia Sinica, I did some psychological experiments and published many papers on physiological psychology such as the influence of mouse nutrition on learning ability. After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), he successively served as a professor of psychology in the Department of Psychology of Tsinghua University and the Department of Philosophy of Peking University, and served as the chairman of the Beijing Branch of the Chinese Psychological Association.

Tang Yue has been engaged in the research and teaching of the history and theory of western psychology for a long time, and introduced the famous works of western psychology and philosophy to China in the early days. He attaches great importance to the criticism of idealism in psychology, and has published papers that systematically analyze and criticize James's pragmatic philosophy and psychology and Freud's idealistic view of history. In the same place, we emphasize the correct treatment of critical inheritance in psychology, oppose the practice of replacing psychology with philosophy, emphasize the difference between psychology, philosophy and ethics in scientific objects, and advocate that psychology should study, discover and understand the laws of psychological activities from the psychological formation law of historical materialism. Cheng Tang combined the systematic research, teaching and textbook construction of western modernist schools of psychology. The Outline of the History of Western Psychology, published by 1982, is a lecture for psychology undergraduates in Peking University since 1950s, and it is also the first textbook of the history of western psychology compiled in China. He not only emphasized the basic training and research of psychology, but also attached importance to the practical application of psychology. When he was teaching in the philosophy department of Peking University, he strongly supported the establishment of psychology laboratory and Pavlov conditioned reflex laboratory. He also made in-depth research on the history of China's philosophy and China's psychology, and his work Rhetoric is one of the earliest rhetoric monographs in China.

Tang Yue has made great achievements in psychology, covering a wide range, and has successively opened many professional courses such as general psychology, experimental psychology, physiological psychology, abnormal psychology and social psychology.
