In Li's residence in Dali, his nephew threatened Duan to abdicate to his newly recognized adoptive father and killed Ruan, Gan Baobao and Li one by one. Duan couldn't bear to die for himself, and finally committed suicide. His princess Dao Baifeng also committed suicide later.

Duan is a character in Jin Yong's martial arts novel Tian Ba Long Bu. As the adoptive father of Bai Feng, the husband of Nanwangdao, Dali Town, Northern Song Dynasty, Duan Yu was highly valued by Baoding Emperor.

He is also the lover of Baby Gan, Ruan, Li and Kang Min. He is the father of Mu (born by Baby Gan), Zhong Ling (born by Baby Gan), Ah Jun, Ah Zi (born by Ruan) and Wang Yuyan (born by Li Luoqing), and has always regarded Duan Yu (born by Dao Baifeng and Duan Yanqing) as his own son.

Character background

Duan was the southern king of Dali Town in the Northern Song Dynasty. Duan is a dignified China man, but he is naturally romantic. Duan's brother is Duan of Emperor Dali and his wife is Dao Baifeng. However, he was born romantic and owed a lot of romantic debts.
