This sentence describes the phenomenon of the alternation of the old and the new in nature, which is quite philosophical. The emergence of new things and the disappearance of old things have their objective inevitability, which is independent of human will and reflects the poet's vision of development.
The first couplet refers to reading two quatrains sent by Bai Juyi, and then writing poems to express feelings about the death of friends. The couplet says that when friends die one by one, tributes naturally increase, resulting in the most concentrated tributes. I have no feelings about my friend's death, and my loneliness is beyond words.
Neck couplet is a famous sentence throughout the ages, which can best reflect Liu Yuxi's philosophical thought. The original meaning refers to the new leaves that grow in the dense forest in spring, urging the old leaves to replace, and the rushing water in the river gives way to the waves coming behind.
Kerwin Chen and can refer to friends who have passed away, such as, Dunshi and Uncle Hui, or to past events. "New leaves" and "back waves" can be referred to. The younger generation can also refer to new things. I think this connection at least contains these philosophical thoughts.
Liu Yuxi
Liu Yuxi, whose original name was Xuan and whose name was Xiucheng, was listed as noniaceae in Zhang Jiucheng in the second year of Shaoxing. Born in Yongfeng, Luling, he is a fellow countryman with the famous Ouyang Xiu. His deeds can be found in the thirty-fourth volume of Yongfeng County Records of Tongzhi, Ji 'an Mansion Records of Wanli, Ji 'an Mansion Records of Guangxu, and Addendum to Learning Examples of Song and Yuan Dynasties.
